AEW Star Poised for Exciting Cameo in Upcoming Adult Swim Project

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has been steadily expanding its presence beyond the wrestling ring into broader pop culture, exemplified by AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s cameo in an Adam Sandler movie and veteran wrestler Adam Edge Copeland’s part in the “Percy Jackson” series. Recently, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed that AEW is collaborating with Adult Swim through Nick Collins, who shared on LinkedIn that he is writing and producing an upcoming animated project featuring characters modeled after AEW wrestlers. Collins will co-write this project with Mika Stahl.

This is not AEW’s first collaboration with Adult Swim; a few years back, they teamed up for the “Battle for the Spoils” event at 2025 Comic-Con, pairing AEW stars like Johnny TV, Taya Valkyrie, Willow Nightingale, and Orange Cassidy with characters from Adult Swim shows such as “Primal,” “Aqua Teen Hunger Force,” “YOLO,” and “Smiling Friends.” Additionally, AEW organized a “Rick and Morty” themed episode of “AEW Dynamite” for Halloween, marking another crossover effort. This upcoming animated project with Collins marks AEW’s third partnership with Adult Swim.

Another major crossover for AEW came when they released a two-issue comic book series in collaboration with DC Comics, featuring top AEW wrestlers like Mercedes Monet, Will Ospreay, Darby Allin, Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland, and Kenny Omega teaming up with iconic DC superheroes including Batman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman.

Fan Take: This collaboration signals AEW’s ongoing commitment to blending wrestling with mainstream entertainment, offering fans fresh ways to connect with their favorite stars. For the sport, it’s a chance to reach new audiences and solidify AEW’s position as a forward-thinking brand that embraces creativity beyond the ring.
