Tommaso Ciampa recently shared insights into the rapid creation of his new entrance theme for AEW, revealing that the entire process was accomplished in just 48 hours. The former WWE Tag Team Champion made his AEW debut last week on Dynamite under his new persona, Psycho Killer, accompanied by a fresh theme composed by AEW’s in-house musician Mikey Rooks.
In a video released by AEW, Ciampa explained how closely he worked with the creative team, including visual designer Mike Mansally and composer Mikey Rooks, to bring his vision to life. He emphasized the collaborative process, stating, “To put this all together in 48 hours is like talking to Mike Mansally and saying, ‘This is my vision for Tron,’ and seeing it happen. Then working with Mikey Rooks, giving him the elements of the music I’ve always wanted, made the experience truly enjoyable.” Ciampa also highlighted how refreshing it was to have his input prioritized in crafting the music, describing the exchange with Rooks as a dynamic back-and-forth collaboration.
Having signed with WWE back in 2015, Ciampa noted that joining AEW was a decision he had been contemplating for a long time. He previously announced that he would not extend his WWE contract, which was set to expire at the end of January. AEW shared a tweet promoting Ciampa’s new track, “My Shadow Knows,” featuring Mikey Rooks with Just Joe, now available on major streaming services.
Fan Take: This quick turnaround in developing Tommaso Ciampa’s entrance theme reflects AEW’s agility and commitment to creative freedom, which bodes well for fostering unique wrestler identities. For AEW fans, it signals exciting storytelling and presentation possibilities that can elevate the overall wrestling experience.
