One of WWE’s weekly programs has recently announced updates to its commentary team due to a new responsibility assigned to one of its announcers. Last week on NXT, Shawn Michaels revealed that Robert Stone will take on the role of interim General Manager of the show following the exit of Eva, WWE’s former General Manager.
In addition to his previous duties as Eva’s assistant on NXT, Stone has been part of the commentary team for WWE Evolve alongside Peter Rosenberg for the past year. Today, Stone confirmed that tonight’s WWE Evolve episode will be his final appearance as an analyst.
He shared on Twitter:
“After the upheaval that happened on NXT last night, it’s clear that I need to dedicate my full attention to my new position as Interim NXT General Manager. Unfortunately, tonight will be the last time I break down the action on #WWEEvolve. It’s been an incredible first year for the show. Keep watching the next generation of talent emerge every week on @Tubi. Trust me…I’m watching too.”
This evening’s WWE Evolve card features Kendall Gray defending the Evolve Women’s Championship against Carmen Petrovic, plus matches including Swipe Right vs. Eli Knight and Mike Cunningham, and It’s Gal vs. Aaron Rourke.
Fan Take: This change highlights WWE’s ongoing commitment to evolving their storytelling and leadership roles within their brands, offering fresh direction for NXT fans. Robert Stone stepping into management could bring exciting developments in NXT storylines, while his departure from commentary marks a significant shift for WWE Evolve’s presentation.
