Following the removal of the Young Bucks’ executive vice president titles at AEW All: Texas, former TNA president Scott D’Amore has turned his attention to their future prospects. He speculated that Matt and Nick Jackson might eventually make a jump to WWE.
In the latest episode of his podcast, The D’Amore Drop, Scott D’Amore reflected on the current storyline involving the Young Bucks. He noted that despite their significant accomplishments in AEW, a future move to WWE could be possible, aiming for a memorable “WrestleMania Moment.”
D’Amore remarked, “It’s well-known that WWE was very eager to sign the Bucks before they helped establish AEW. You can envision Matt and Nick, not immediately but eventually, deciding to pursue a WrestleMania moment similar to what Cody Rhodes, another AEW founder, achieved.”
These remarks from D’Amore come after a notable shift in the Young Bucks’ on-screen roles. They recently lost a tag team match to Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay, and in the subsequent AEW Dynamite episode, the storyline showed them struggling without their executive privileges. However, despite this storyline development, Matt and Nick Jackson secured a long-term contract extension with AEW in August 2023.
The comparison to Cody Rhodes is particularly relevant. After departing AEW to rejoin WWE in 2022, Rhodes has risen to become one of WWE’s leading babyfaces. Following his victory in this year’s King of the Ring Tournament, he plans to challenge John Cena for the undisputed WWE Championship at the upcoming Summerslam Premium Live Event.
Fan Take: This news is significant for WWE fans as the potential arrival of the Young Bucks could inject fresh excitement and high-caliber wrestling into the WWE universe. Their move could also signal a greater shift in the industry’s dynamics, possibly inspiring new rivalries and elevating the overall competition in professional wrestling.
