Hulk Hogan is looking at Hooters’ big comeback as his true American brand is making serious moves to acquire the intellectual property of the iconic restaurant chain.
According to TMZ Sports, the WWE Hall of Fame and his company are on a mission to take over the brand that embodies it. “Freedom, grit, and fun.” And they believe that Hooters fits perfectly into the mold.
Real American CEO Terry Francis laid out his vision and explained his plans to modernize the Hooter while still remaining true to its roots. “The Hooters are more than just wings and nostalgia. It’s part of the American story.” Francis said. “We believe there is great potential to modernize our brand without losing our bold identity. Under the umbrella, Hooters will return to the spotlight as an unfiltered Americana symbol.
The brand is looking to expand its reach far beyond its current footprint, along with plans to leverage consumer products, digital content, games and other entertainment ventures aimed at attracting younger audiences.
Hogan, who launched a real American beer last year, believes Hooters naturally fits the American image of his brand. The move doesn’t come anywhere – a source close to Hogan’s camp mentioned in April that they were. “It’s very intriguing.” We call it the perfect match for the opportunity to breathe new life into the Hooters.
Hooters has struggled to keep floating around in recent years, and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March to restructure its debt. With Hogan’s authentic American brand trying to intervene, the company was able to see a revival under new leadership and a new vision.
