Shane McMahon has publicly commented on the possibility of joining AEW, following a meeting with AEW President Tony Khan last year. According to reports from Wrestletalk and Fightful, the two met in July 2024 at Arlington, Texas airport to discuss potential future collaborations. This sparked widespread speculation about McMahon potentially joining AEW in some role, a move many fans hadn’t anticipated. Despite some rumors being fueled by the younger Bucks’ unexpected involvement, McMahon has yet to officially become part of AEW.

A few months later, TMZ caught up with McMahon, who said, “I’m meeting with AEW and I hope they’ve been ongoing success, but that’s not WWE. It’s not the company I built, but you don’t know what’s going to happen in this business.” He also dismissed rumors about starting a wrestling promotion with his father, Vince McMahon, saying, “You don’t know what’s going to happen there. Of course anything can happen in WWE, but those rumors are wrong.”

Shane McMahon’s last WWE appearance was on WWE Television 39 in April 2023, where he was injured with a torn quadriceps during a match with The Miz. More updates on McMahon’s future in wrestling will be provided as they become available.

Fan Take: This news is significant for AEW fans because Shane McMahon’s potential involvement could bring new energy and fresh storylines to the promotion. It also highlights an intriguing shift in the wrestling industry, where key figures from WWE might explore opportunities that can reshape the sport’s landscape.
