April 25th edition WWE SmackdownZelina Vega achieved career milestones by winning the US Women’s Championship. Vega won gold from Chelsea Green and ended his first reign, which began with the main event on Saturday night in December 2024.
With heartfelt WWE Digital Exclusive In her post-winning interview, Vega suppressed her tears as she reflected on her long journey from a hopeful dreamer to a champion.
“I’m watching it, but it’s not realistic because this was something I lived solely on my dreams. And now it’s real life and I have it.
The victory shows Vega’s first taste of single gold, more than seven years after signing WWE in 2017. When asked about her way of thinking heading into the match, she admitted that she tried to remain hopeful but realistic.
“It’s one of those things you always pray for, but I really don’t know if that will happen. It really shocked me when I was walking down the ramp and heard the words ‘You deserve it’. Honestly, it felt like the fans had given up on me. ”
