An update to former TNT champion Derby Allin’s AEW status has emerged, revealing his initial hope that he will return to television.

Derby Allin has not wrestled since he wrestled with Ricochet in the Continental Classic Tournament on December 22, 2024 dynamite episode.

We recently received an update on the progress of the AEW Star as Allin set out on his Everest Mount expedition during his absence.

Amidst uncertainty about his return, an update emerged in AEW’s initial hopes for Derby Allin’s comeback.

According to Fightful Select, when asked about Allin’s status in January, they were told that he wasn’t expected to return until spring.

When Fightful asked about his potential return recently, they were told that the initial hope would be to be returned by the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and that he would be featured in a double or a note. The report noted that Fighful has not received updates on the official plan since then.

At the time of writing, he is a week away from the double or notebook that occurs on May 25th from the desert diamond arina in Glendale, Arizona.

Mount Everest is 29,035 feet tall. This means that Allin had an elevation of 8,077 feet (1.5 miles/2.4 km) before reaching the highest point on the planet when he recorded the kickflip. The video was posted on Allin’s social media on May 5th.

Fightful noted that a typical climb in Everest takes between 6-10 weeks. Alin began climbing in early April. This means that at the time of writing it had been climbing in just under six weeks.
