WWE has revealed that a match for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship between Lyla Valkyria and Becky Lynch will take place at Money in the Bank. The company confirmed the booking of this matchup earlier today.
Becky Lynch formed a team with Lyla Valkyria after Bailey was attacked backstage, leading to a surprise return at WrestleMania 41. Together, they captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship by defeating Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, but their reign was brief as they lost the titles back to Morgan and Rodriguez in a rematch on Raw.
Soon after, an enraged Lynch attacked Valkyria, turning heel. Lynch also orchestrated the attack on Bailey to claim a WrestleMania spot for herself, blaming Valkyria for “embarrassing” her and sparking a bitter feud. Valkyria successfully defended her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Lynch despite sustaining a broken nose. Lynch assaulted Valkyria following the match, and on the May 19 episode of Raw, Valkyria got revenge by defeating Lynch in a qualifier for the Money in the Bank event.
The Money in the Bank pay-per-view will be held at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, California, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, with the main card beginning at 7 PM. The updated match lineup includes:
– Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Solo Sikoa vs. LA Knight vs. TBD (six more participants to be announced)
– Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Alexa Bliss vs. Liea Ripley vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Julia vs. TBD (two more participants to be announced)
– WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match: Lyla Valkyria (champion) vs. Becky Lynch
Fan Take: This showdown between Valkyria and Lynch is a significant moment for WWE as it highlights a fierce rivalry that blends intense personal drama with high-stakes competition. For fans, the outcome of this match could shift the landscape of the women’s division and set the tone for future championship storylines in WWE.
