Killer Kross is transitioning from the wrestling arena to the silver screen.
Deadline recently announced that Karrion Kross, the former WWE star whose real name is Kevin Kesar, has joined the cast of God Shot, a gritty new action drama currently in production in Chicago.
This film is inspired by the story of Sammy Horowitz, a former convict who became a professional boxer and Hollywood stuntman, and who also stars in the movie. He co-authored the script with Adam Paasen, considering it a deeply personal project.
“This film draws heavily from my life, and it’s dedicated to the stunt community, Chicago, and everyone who supported this journey,” Horowitz stated. “This is my Rocky story. The very fact that we’ve been able to make it is proof that Godshot exists.”
Kross is joining an impressive cast that features Ron Perlman, William Forsythe, Chris D. Lofton, Joe Miñoso, Jon Seda, Marilla Lombroso, and Sari Sanchez.
The storyline of God Shot follows a recently released ex-con who seeks redemption through the perilous world of Hollywood stunts, only to realize that the biggest challenge is escaping his past. Kross expressed his enthusiasm about the project on X/Twitter.
“Hey everyone, here’s some more info about our movie. I can’t wait for all of you to see #Godshot!”
Directed by Gabriel Beristain, the film is produced by Warner Davis and Todd Friedman of Hemlock Circle Productions, with participation from Horowitz, Ayman Humaydeh, and Kimberly Hines.
“Godshot is a unique character-driven action story: raw, grounded, and filled with real emotion,” said Davis. “This film highlights the unsung heroes of Hollywood’s stunt community, combining Sammy’s script and Gabriel’s visual talent to create an unforgettable cinematic experience.”
Filming is currently underway in Chicago, although a release date remains unannounced. Kross has indicated he is exploring new opportunities outside wrestling, and God Shot may serve as his breakout role.
