Nick Gage is on the mend, with GCW’s Brett Lauderdale being the first to showcase his remarkable recovery.

Lauderdale shared a new image on Twitter that depicts the deathmatch icon looking healthier, more robust, and in excellent form. According to the founder of GCW, Gage has put in significant effort over the past few months to recover from a life-threatening situation, and the progress is clearly evident.

“On October 1st, this man confronted death. His recovery in under three months is both astonishing and incredible,” Lauderdale remarked. “This is what it feels like to finally embrace self-belief after years of addiction. The King is back, and I couldn’t be prouder. MDK.”

But Lauderdale didn’t stop there. A follow-up tweet took aim at those who neglected to support Gage during his toughest times.

“To the haters, fakes, enablers, and so-called ‘friends’ who cowardly ignored him or acted foolishly when called out: face the consequences, your time will come.”

Gage has been away from the indie wrestling scene since September 2025, when Lauderdale announced that he was in long-term care and would take an “indefinite” hiatus from competing. He made his return a few weeks ago at GCW Homecoming: Night One and last appeared at Focus Pro’s “My Friends Over You” event on September 20th.

While there’s no update on when or if Gage will make a full return to the ring, Lauderdale’s declaration that “The King is back” hints that something monumental is on the horizon. Nick Gage has long been a testament to resilience in wrestling, and now he stands as a symbol of renewal. This time, he seems ready for a comeback.
