WWE doesn’t have an offseason, and that’s certainly true for NXT as well. Tony D’Angelo is trying to destroy the Dark State all by himself, but he can always ask for help.

The February 17th episode of NXT was a really fun show. This also included a match for the number one contenders for the NXT Tag Team Titles, as DarkState needed a new challenger.

This week on NXT, the #1 Contenders match for the NXT tag team titles pitted Vanity Project, represented by Brad Balor and Ricky Smokes, against Hank & Tank, represented by Hank Walker and Tank Ledger, OTM, represented by Bronco Neema and Lucien Price, and The Culling, represented by Shawn Spears and Nico Vance.

The match was decided after the first hour of the show. Of all the teams in this match, Hank and Tank were the overwhelming favorites to win at NXT Arena. This intense match continued until the commercial break, where OTM looked really strong after taking all the other teams out of the ring.

This match was a chaotic match in which all four teams fought hard to keep their opponents from winning. At one point, people were fighting on the top rope in all four corners, resulting in four superplexes at once. After a crazy finish that included Hank and Tank putting OTM through a table, Shawn Spears got the pinfall and Vanity Project won. This was a shocking end to a very competitive match.

Vanity Project will face DarkState for the title next week on NXT. We’ll have to wait and see if a new NXT Tag Team Champion emerges from this deal. Only time will tell what happens next.
