AEW Dynamite Results (April 8, 2026): Live Match Updates and Highlights
The show opens with a welcome from Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Bryan Danielson, and we see Jon Moxley and Will Ospreay brawling in the parking lot. The Death Riders then find the two and defeat Ospreay, but Alex Windsor and United Empire members Francesco Aquila, Henare, and Callum Newman arrive in a car and assist Ospreay.
The two groups then started brawling with each other, causing Marina Shafir and Windsor to scuffle into the ringside area. Ospreay and Moxley then follow, with Moxley and Daniel Garcia stomping Ospreay in the ring. Moxley then finishes Ospreay with a sleeper and Henare clotheslines Garcia over the top rope, but Ospreay manages to get the better of him. The Ospreys then represent the United Empire in an eight-man Chaos in Canada match against the Death Riders.
Don Callis then cut a promo, stating that Kyle Fletcher’s injury was a major hindrance to his plans. Caris then says that the plan was to make Kyle Fletcher the longest reigning AEW TNT Champion. Callis then stated that he wanted to fix a match with the Young Bucks on AEW Dynasty, but that was also canceled. Caris then says that even though Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita are not on good terms, he runs the Don Callis Family like a professional sports franchise and that he likes the fact that they are actually not on good terms. Callis said that after Kyle Fletcher vacated the TNT Championship, he faced Jungle Boy, Brody King, and Darby Allin, featuring Takeshita, Mark Davis, and Andrade.
Darby Allin, Jack Perry, and Bandido (Brody King filling in for personal business) then descend into the ring for the first match of the night, followed by the Don Callis Family.
Trio match: Jurassic Express AEW National Champion “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry, ROH World Champion Bandido, Darby Allin vs. Don Callis Family (Andrade El Idro, Mark Davis, New Japan Pro Wrestling World Television Champion “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita)
The match starts with Andrade El Idro and Darby Allin, with Andrade teaming up with Takeshita. Allin then grabbed the microphone and called MJF to the ring, asking him why he was Don Callis’s asshole. Andrade attacks Allin, but Konosuke Takeshita hits Allin with a rolling German suplex for two. Davis then steps over Allin under the entrance ramp, but Perry hits a moonsault off the ropes to level Takeshita and Davis, and Don Callis joins the commentary desk. Perry then tries to jump off the ropes, but Takeshita nails him with an aerial attack. Andrade then kicks Perry out of the ring as he takes a selfie with a female fan.
Bandido also tags in and hits Takeshita with a pump kick. He then hits Davis, bodyslams Davis onto Takeshita and nails the side of Takeshita’s face with a boot. Takeshita then hits Bandido with the Blue Thunder Bomb and pins him, but Bandido kicks out. Davis then tags in and spits in Allin’s face, but Bandido hits a hurricanrana on Davis and pins him. Davis then kicks out and hits a Poizrana on Takeshita, which Perry interferes with. Andrade then runs Perry into the ropes and trips him, but Allin runs out of the ring and takes Andrade down. Takeshita and Davis then slammed Allin into a pile of chairs in the timekeeper area, but Andrade teamed up and delivered a message to Perry, pinning him and giving him the win.
The winner of the trio match is the Don Callis Family (Andrade El Idro, Mark Davis, and New Japan Pro Wrestling World Television Champion “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita)!
After the match, Andrade stares down Allin in the ring. Allin then shoves Andrade, but Takeshita and Davis land a few shots on Bandido and Perry, and Andrade low blows Allin. Charis then rakes Perry’s eyes out, but The Young Bucks music plays and Perry runs off to the ring. Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson then unleash right hands on Takeshita and Davis, while Kazuchika Okada and Lance Archer join the Don Callis family. The Rascals then head to the ring to take down the Don Callis Family, but Myron Reed goes over the top rope and takes out Okada outside.
We then head to the backside where Lexi Nair talks to Doc Sampson and gives an update on Kenny Omega before he faces MJF for the AEW World Title on Dynasty this weekend. Dr. Sampson says Omega is fine, but he’s worried that MJF is getting too carried away.
Queen Aminata then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night, followed by Willow Nightingale.
AEW TBS Championship Match: Willow Nightingale (c) vs. Queen Aminata
The match begins with Nightingale shaking hands and doing a little dance. Aminata then kicks Nightingale, but she tries to pin her for only a two count. Aminata was then sent to the floor and out of the arena. Both women then exchange blows. Next, Hikaru Shida is shown watching the game from the stands. Nightingale then sends Aminata into the guardrail. Nightingale then brings Aminata back into the ring. Nightingale then hit a standing lariat on Aminata and covered her for just a two count. Aminata then takes Nightingale down, runs him to the ropes, and hits a big running kick. Aminata then covers Nightingale but only gets a two count.
Nightingale then hits Aminata with a dropkick from the middle rope and follows her up with a Death Valley Driver. He then goes for the pin, but Aminata kicks out. Nightingale then climbs to the top rope and tries to hit a moonsault on Aminata, but Aminata moves out of the way and hits Nightingale’s forearm.
Aminata hits a double chop on Nightingale, but Nightingale hits a backslide. Aminata then kicks out and hits Nightingale with an Air Raid Crush for the pin, but Nightingale kicks out. Nightingale then intercepted Aminata with a big boot, causing her to crash outside the ring under the bottom rope, and hit Aminata with a Doctor Bomb for the win.

After the match, Nightingale shook hands with Aminata.
We then see a promo promoting AEW World Champion MJF.
Chris Jericho’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Jericho then performs to the audience and grabs the microphone. Jericho says he has a big announcement. Jericho then announced that he would be signing a new AEW contract. Next, Jericho says he has taken a lot of risks, including signing with AEW in 2019. And Jericho says he’s very proud of how big the company has become. Afterwards, Jericho said he was excited to continue building the company he helped start. And Jericho says the many risks in his career have paid off. Jericho then says that he admits that not everything has paid off because he has been suffering from stinkers, but he loves wrestling so it was all for a good reason.
Jericho then says that the reason he looks so different and feels so much better is because of his respect for pro wrestling. Jericho then says he doesn’t care if he’s in the opening match or the main event because he loves AEW and pro wrestling. Jericho tries to sign the contract but is interrupted by Ricochet and The Demand. Ricochet says Canada is the worst. Ricochet says that if they wanted to hurt him, Bishop Coun would have already done it. Ricochet then asks Jericho to do him a favor. Then Ricochet tells him to never do it. Ricochet then tells him not to sign the contract and not to come back. Ricochet then asks why he wants to do this since he hasn’t fought in a year. And he credits Jericho’s abs to his singing.
And Ricochet admitted that AEW’s monumental rise would not have happened without Jericho. Then Ricochet says, now he’s the man. Ricochet then takes credit for the increase in audience numbers and ratings. Ricochet then tells him that he actually respects Jericho and that’s why no one wants him here. Ricochet then tells Jericho to do everyone a favor and get out of the ring, get on a cruise ship and never come back. Jericho then blames Ricochet for being bald and says he doesn’t accept his idea at all. He then revealed a clause in his contract that said he could choose to fight whoever he wanted. Jericho then says Ricochet was just listed and the match on AEW Dynasty is official.
We then headed to the back where Don Callis said the Young Bucks vs. Takeshita and Okada was decided on AEW Dynasty. Neither wants to team up with the other, but Takeshita says he wants the title that Okada holds. Don Callis then says he wants a Michael Jordan/Scottie Pippen dynamic. And he told them they could work together for one night and resolve the title differences. Afterwards, Okada and Takeshita shake hands, but Okada says he’s Jordan and Takeshita is Pippen. They then almost fight, but other members of the family stop them.
Tommaso Ciampa then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night, followed by Mascara Dorada.
Single Match (Winner enters Casino Gauntlet Match in 1st place): “Psycho Killer” Tommaso Ciampa vs. CMLL Trio Champion Golden Mask)
The match begins with Ciampa taking Dorada’s arm and defeating Ciampa. Ciampa stands up and tries to remove Dorada’s mask. Dorada then fights back. Ciampa then goes for a rollup but Ciampa moves. Dorada then sends Ciampa to the floor. He then looks at the TNT titles at the announce desk. Ciampa then walks up the iron stairs. He then kicks Dorada, who counters with a kick of his own. Dorada then runs to the ropes but Ciampa moves. Dorada then knocks Ciampa down and hits a thrust kick. Dorada then gets hit with a knee strike from Ciampa. Ciampa is then sent to the floor and Dorada fights back. Dorada then jumps over the top rope and slams Ciampa to the floor.
Dorada then comes off the top and takes down Ciampa. Ciampa then goes out of the ring. Dorada then hits a big kick on Ciampa. Dorada then comes off the top of the ring post and lands on Ciampa on the floor. Ciampa is back in the ring. Dorada then hits a big 450 splash on Ciampa and covers for just a two count. Ciampa then picks Dorada up, but he escapes and knocks Ciampa down with a leg lariat. Ciampa then fires back with a low dropkick, knocking Dorada to his knees. Ciampa then covers Dorada for just a two count. Both men are on the ropes. Dorada then kicks Ciampa, lifts him up and hits a huge neckbreaker. Dorada then covers Ciampa for just a two count. Dorada gets up and comes down, but gets hit with a boot to the face. Ciampa then DDTs Dorada and hits a running knee for the win.

He then heads to the back and sees David Finlay and Clark Connors attacking Orange Cassidy and Roderick Strong. Gabe Kidd said that The Conglomeration had no one left and The Dogs warned Mistico and Jetspeed that they were coming to Collision for the AEW World Trios Championship.
We then see Thekla being interviewed by Lexy Nair. Tekla says he’s tired of being reminded that his opponent on Dynasty, Jamie Hayter, is a former world champion. She then said that things have changed since Jamie ruled the kingdom, reminding her that Jamie was the first person she took out when she arrived in AEW. And she called Jamie Hayter a “stupid bastard” and said he would make her the stupidest bastard alive.
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage then come down to the ring. Copeland begins by blaming jealousy and pettiness for destroying FTR’s relationship with Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, saying the reality is hitting them that Cash Wheeler feels like they are his lackeys. And he said he and Cage will stand at the top of the mountain as the new AEW World Tag Team Champions. Cage then tells FTR to sit down and shut up while he goes about his business. Cage then said that Harwood and Wheeler were busy upsetting him, Copeland, and all of Canada. He then said he paid an intimate visit to Harwood and Wheeler’s mothers, and said he would do the same for Stokely’s mother, but only after he became one half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions.
Harwood, Wheeler and Stokely then head to the ring. Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero then attack Copeland and Cage from behind in the ring, but Cage performs a kill switch on Wheeler. Wheeler then slams Cage into Stokely, and Stokely brings the AEW World Tag Team Championship to Cage. Romero then locks up a chair and Beretta goes for a running knee on Copeland, but Harwood slides Cage’s arm into the chair. Stokely then decided to steal Cage’s watch and Wheeler flew from the center apron and stomped on Cage’s arm.
Then we head to the back where Darby Allin cuts a promo and he says it’s not like he doesn’t care at all. Arin then says that he cares too much. Allin said he would then build walls and facades. Allin then admitted that he was afraid of not winning in an important match. Allin then says that he’s worried that he won’t be able to become the face of this company, and in order to do that he needs to become a world champion. Allin then warned Andrade, stating that he did not know what got into him. Allin then says he has enough and this is what he needs, whether it’s Kenny Omega or MJF. Arin then says this is needed more than anyone can imagine.
United Empire and Will Ospreay then make their way down to the ring for the night’s main event, followed by the Death Riders.
8-man tag team Chaos in Canada match: United Empire (Callum Newman, Francesco Aquila, Henare, Will Ospreay) vs. Death Riders (AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley, “The Bastard” PAC, Yuta Wheeler, Claudio Castagnoli)
The match begins with Jon Moxley brawling with Henare in the crowd. Ospreay sends Moxley into the ringside area as Francesco Akira, Callum Newman and Henare brawl with Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia and PAC. Castagnoli then scuffles with Newman on the entrance ramp and slams Newman into the knee with a gorilla press. Alex Windsor then takes out Marina Shafir, who was in the ring with her Death Rider stablemates. A ladder was then set up in the ring, and Akira hit a crossbody from the ladder over the top rope, knocking out Castagnoli, PAC, and Garcia outside.
Ospreay then sets the table and Newman taps the ring steps next to him. Ospreay and Newman then drag Moxley to the ring steps, but Castagnoli comes to Moxley’s aid and slams Newman into the barricade with a gorilla press. He then hit a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on Ospreay as Ospreay tried to jump off the ring steps. Castagnoli forces Newman into the corner, Moxley chokes Henare outside, and Garcia hits a clothesline on Newman. Castagnoli, Garcia, and PAC then take turns hitting Newman with clotheslines and uppercuts in the corner, while Moxley corners Ospreay on the outside.
He then bit Ospreay’s ear and Garcia continued to wear him down by standing on Ospreay’s spine. He then strangled Ospreay with the shirt he was wearing. The Death Riders then alternately hit Henare with clotheslines and uppercuts in the corner of the ring, but Henare drags Garcia to the ring steps. Castagnoli then came to Garcia’s aid and slammed Henare into another table set up on the outside. Osprey is on a rampage right now. Moxley then hits a piledriver on Ospreay, potentially re-injuring his neck. He then starts hitting her head from behind.
Henare then hits an uppercut on Moxley, but Castagnoli takes him down again. Newman then comes in and takes down Castagnoli, but PAC gets the better of him. Akira then wins PAC before Garcia wins against Akira. Moxley and Ospreay try again, but Garcia looks for the Dragon Tamer. Moxley then hits a curb stomp on Ospreay. Akira and Moxley fight with a clear physical difference, but Moxley wipes out Akira. Newman is in a back-and-forth brawl with Moxley. More elbows by Newman and Ospreay goes for Garcia. He then hits a double cutter on both fighters, resulting in a double kickout. Death Rider is then sent to the table, but Akira doesn’t land it all. Moxley is back and looking to end Ospreay’s career for good. Ospreay then poured his entire body into Moxley to give him the victory.

After the match, Ospreay picks up Moxley, but Castagnoli runs in and takes Moxley out of harm’s way.
Next, we get a video package focused on Kenny Omega.
Then Kenny Omega’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Omega then grabbed the mic and started saying how he liked getting sympathy for his health, which was nice, but it got old every week. Omega then said that wasn’t what made him angry. Omega then stated that AEW was once just a concept. people struggle and maybe That would be something different. And Omega says that in the end, it was MJF’s mouth that made him famous. Omega says he can do more of what MJF can do. Omega then says that what MJF cannot do is constantly rewrite his history and legacy, which is why he is a wrestling god.
Omega then berates MJF for not being able to tell his story in the ring. Omega then says that he thought the responsibility was all on him. Omega then says he was wrong because it’s not his responsibility or legacy, but everyone’s collective legacy. Omega then said that since the diverticulitis, he is not the person he used to be, but that it is important now to keep his career intact, and that his weaknesses have now become his strengths.
MJF then comes out and mocks the idea that Omega is better than him. MJF then tells him that this will be his last AEW World Title match. MJF then brought up his excuse for Omega losing the world title, saying the “it’s 75%” line wouldn’t work this time. MJF then says that Omega will realize that he is not on the level of the devil. MJF then says that the fan god will fall and the devil will rise and sit atop the throne that only belongs to him. MJF then said he was better than Omega and he knew it. Omega then offers to forget the past and shake hands before the legendary main event. MJF then threw the mic down and teased waving his hands before attempting a shot. Omega was ready and hit the V-Trigger.
Omega then says MJF is predictable. Omega then picks up Dynamite’s diamond ring. And at the end of the PPV he said: Afterwards, Omega will have a good night promotion. Omega then takes the ring and drops it on MJF. Omega then left the ring as the show drew to a close.
