AEW Dynamite Results (June 17, 2026): Live Match Updates and Highlights
The show begins with a comment welcoming us.
AEW World Champion MJF is then seen in the backstage area with Don Callis and his family, and we hear from MJF first. Before I spoke to my opponent/challenger, I asked him to look at his world title. MJF said he respected Kevin Knight’s enthusiasm, ignored Andrade El Idro’s recent challenge, and mocked Swerve Strickland, Will Ospreay, and Kenny Omega before focusing on Mark Briscoe. MJF says the rest of the names on the list are top artists, but everyone just feels sorry for Mark because his brother passed away.
And MJF says that after the Forbidden Door, none of his prayers to become champion will come true. MJF then instructs Caris to announce the members of DCMJF: Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Kazuchika Okada, and Andrade, but Andrade El Idro is not happy with this and states that he thinks MJF will join him. Caris then tries to defuse the situation and as everyone leaves except for a slightly dejected Beretta, we head to ringside where commentary breaks down the lineup for the show.
The Premier Athletes then make their way down to the ring for the first match of the night, followed by Kenny Omega.
Single match: “The Best Bout Machine” Kenny Omega vs. Premier Athlete Tony Nese
The match begins with Omega getting distracted by Mark Sterling and Tony Nese taking control, but that doesn’t last long as Omega reverses the fight with a snapdragon suplex followed by a V-Trigger. Sterling then tries to distract him again, but is knocked to the floor before Omega hits a One-Winged Angel on Nese, winning.
The single match winner is “The Best Bout Machine” Kenny Omega!
After the match, Omega takes the microphone, but is unable to exchange words before TMDK is sent off. Omega left the ring without facing his opponent at the Forbidden Door as Zack Saber Jr. was flanked by Mikey Nichols and Bad Dude Tito heading to the ring. Later, as the Young Bucks and Jack Perry tie the score, Saber Jr. grabs the microphone and throws it at Omega.
Omega then grabs the microphone and speaks and says he doesn’t know what TMDK stands for and neither do they. Omega spoke about the match at Forbidden Door and said he knows it will be good for Saber Jr. to get a notch in the win column against the best, and that Saber Jr. has friends and he has friends. Omega then says that they will have a one-on-one meeting at the forbidden door, and that they will say goodbye for now. Then Omega said, “Goodnight Mwah” and “Goodbye Bang.”
Omega’s music then plays as we flash back to Collision: Summer Blockbuster, where The Dogs defeated The Young Bucks for the win. You will hear from them later tonight.
The women’s Owen Hart Tournament semi-finals are also still to come, with Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland scheduled to face off ahead of the men’s Owen Hart Tournament finals at Forbidden Door. Tonight’s main event is a 12-man tag team between Team MJF and Team Mark Brisco before a steel cage match at the Forbidden Door. By doing so, the dynamite will start moving.
The Death Riders then go down to the ring for their next match of the night, followed by Brodid.
Tag match: Death Riders (AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley and Daniel Garcia) vs. Brodid (Brody King and ROH World Champion Bandido)
The match started with Bandido and Daniel Garcia, with both men exchanging attacks, with Bandido eventually winning and taking Garcia to the mat, before Garcia reversed and took Bandido down as well. This then ends in a standoff before Garcia mocks Bandido’s pose, and Garcia chases him down with a shoulder tackle after cutting off Bandido’s same act. Bandido then fights back with a dropkick on Garcia, sends him into the corner and makes a tag with Brody King. The two then double team with an assisted suplex and Bandido slams into Garcia, but Garcia stands up and blocks them from dancing. Garcia then shows off his moves, but receives a chop from Brodid.
Moxley then reaches for the tag and gets it, standing across as King mouths at him. Both men then go nose to nose before exchanging forearm blows, leading to an exchange of chops. The two trade hard until Moxley is wobbled by King’s chops. Moxley fought back with a poke in the eye to gain the advantage and a bite to the head before hitting the ropes, but King cut Moxley out of bounds. Bandido then went for the assist, hitting both opponents with dives and sending them to the floor. King then landed a few hard shots on Moxley in the corner and took Garcia with the final one.
Moxley falls to the mat on impact and uses the ropes to get back up, but King puts Moxley back on the ropes. They then exchange blows again until King blocks a lariat and goes for a powerbomb. Moxley then sneaks out and takes him down with a cutter, but King is already on his feet before Moxley takes him out with a lariat. Bandido and Garcia then teamed up, and Bandido launched Garcia into the corner with a belly-to-belly suplex as Moxley chatted with Marina Shafir at ringside. Garcia then left the ring to take a breather while King went for a dive, but was interrupted when Shafir got in his way. She then barks at King, who responds in kind. This then goes back and forth and proves to be a distraction as Moxley hits King with a dive through the ropes.
He then laid some more on King before hitting a piledriver on the floor, Bandido sought revenge, but was sent into the barricade by Garcia. Moxley then brought King back into the ring and then made a tag to Garcia, who dropped King hard to the mat for a two count. He hits King with a few more shots to keep him down, then Moxley makes the tag and gets King to his feet before hitting a few more shots and forcing him into the corner. He then continued to put pressure on King by digging his nails into King’s back before setting King against the turnbuckle and superplexing him off the top.
Bandido was then knocked off the apron by Moxley, leading to a tag with Garcia to keep things going. The Death Riders then go back and forth with this until King lays them out with a double lariat, followed by the tag to Bandido. Bandido’s Tourneo then takes Moxley and a press slam causes Garcia to fall on top of Moxley. Garcia then leaves the ring and Moxley goes after Bandido, but Moxley is sent to the ropes, cutting Bandido off from a 21-plex attempt. Moxley goes for a delayed vertical suplex on Bandido, but Bandido counters with one of his own, distracting the referee and allowing Shafir to slide into the ring. She then goes for a suplex on Bandido, but Bandido lifts her up with a delayed vertical suplex before dropping her to the mat.
Garcia tags back in, but Bandido takes him down and Moxley breaks the pin. King then takes Moxley out of the ring and Bandido goes for an inside cradle, but Garcia counters with a shot of his own for a two count. Bandido then performed a 21-plex and King dived into the ropes to keep Moxley away, giving Brodid the victory.
Tag team match winner, Brodydo (Brody King & ROH World Champion Bandido)!
After the match, Brodid celebrates his victory.
We then head to the back where we hear from Protokada (Kyle Fletcher and Kazuchika Okada). Fletcher talks about bringing back the International Championship to the Don Callis Family, but first he has some business to attend to regarding the Forbidden Door. He then says he knows one person who won’t join Mark Briscoe, and that’s Tomohiro Ishii, who is lying on the floor. The two then joked that Brisco couldn’t find any friends for the big tag match and left.
We then see Tommaso Ciampa backstage and he tells Chris Jericho one of the reasons he hates him. But before that, he said he respected Jericho as a Lionheart who traveled the world, the man who took over New Japan Pro Wrestling, and the man who became the first ever AEW World Champion. Ciampa then puts the ball in Jericho’s court and tells him not to drop it.
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage then appear backstage and begin attacking The Dogs. So Christian Cage reassures people that he has standards too. Cage then says that means he has never met Tag Team, who is named after his mother. He then told Finlay that if he was going to give any blessing to the business, the best his father could do was let him drag his feet. Copeland and Cage then offer to face The Dogs at the Forbidden Door, with the tag titles seemingly on the line.
