WWE NXT tag team champions Hankwalker and Tank Leisure are gearing up to defend their titles for the first time next week on April 29th. Their challengers, Shawn Spears and Niko Vance from Culling, were officially announced during a backstage segment by “NXT” general manager AVA on Tuesday’s episode of NXT.
Last week, Walker and Leisure were attacked by unidentified assailants. This week, following their win over women’s North American champions Sol Luka and Zaria, Izzydam and Tatum Paxley confronted the champs about the attack. As officials intervened, Paxley issued a challenge for the champions to face Vance and Spears next week, which AVA then confirmed.
The champions last defended their titles on an April episode of WWE NXT against Josh Briggs and Inumura Yoshiki. At Battleground, Hank and Tank teamed with Briggs to secure a victory over Vance, Spears, and Brooks Jensen, all members of Culling. Hank and Tank originally won the Fraxiom tag titles during WrestleMania 41 weekend at Stand & Deliver.
Fan Take: This upcoming title defense is a crucial moment for Hankwalker and Tank Leisure to solidify their dominance in the NXT tag division. Fans should watch closely, as this match could ignite fresh rivalries and shake up the tag team landscape in WWE.
