Mercedes Morne shared her thoughts on the upcoming WWE events.

Seven years after the inaugural Evolution pay-per-view (PPV), WWE, owned by Endeavor, announced the return of an all-women’s event set to take place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, on Sunday, July 13th.

The current TBS Champion, who participated in the 2018 event, reacted to the revival of Evolution during a recent Instagram Live session. Mercedes Morne expressed her ongoing support for women’s wrestling but pointed out that it took the WWE a long time to bring back this women-only PPV.

She stated, “I think it’s time. They’ve waited too long to hold an all-women pay-per-view. But I’ll always be a strong supporter of women’s wrestling, so I’m excited for the event and the women involved.”

Mercedes, previously known as Sasha Banks, took part in six women’s tag team matches during the first Evolution PPV. Alongside Bailey and Natalia, she defeated the Riott Squad team consisting of Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan.

With less than two weeks remaining until the PPV, WWE has been updating the event cards. Several new matches were announced recently on Raw, and the Hall of Fame confirmed they will challenge for the women’s title during the SmackDown tapings on the same night. Spoilers for the show are available for fans to check out.

Fan Take: This announcement is a significant moment for WWE fans eager to see women’s wrestling take center stage once again. The revival of Evolution signals a growing recognition of female athletes in WWE and could elevate the sport by showcasing top talent in meaningful, high-profile matches.
