Hulk Hogan’s health was the subject of rampant speculation in mid-June when serious claims emerged suggesting WWE legend was in serious condition after neck surgery. It all comes from comments made by Baba the Love Sponge, who Hogan claimed to be. “It’s not a good shape.” And the call went out to say goodbye to the family.

“I’ve got pretty reliable information… I’ve got calls from various families about going to town to say goodbye to them.” Baba said during the broadcast. “My sources say it’s a complication. [neck fusion surgery]. ”

Baba also pointed out Hogan’s public appearance shortly after the surgery, saying it made the situation worse. “He didn’t have a business he wasn’t out.” He added.

However, Hogan’s camp was quickly pushed back. TMZ Sports reported that Hogan was actually hospitalized, but only to treat years of neck and back problems. The person in charge confirmed:

“Hulk Hogan is not on his last leg… he’s dealing with more of the same illness he’s had over the years. In fact, Hogan is already moving around.”

A few weeks have passed without a direct statement from Hogan, his wife, Sky Daily. Then, on July 11th, almost a month after the initial noise, Sky went to Instagram Stories and finally got his voice up. In response to comments asking if Hogan was indeed in a coma and almost dying, she wrote:

“No, he’s definitely not in a coma state! His heart was strong and there was never a lack of oxygen or brain damage…none of these rumors are true.”

She explained that Hogan had been undergoing serious 4th level. Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF)– Procedures that affect his vocal cords during recovery and require feeding and breathing tubes.

“We have come and go to hospitals to help with that recovery… some people really don’t need drama or panic.

So, while Hogan’s recovery was severe, his deathbed claims were completely off. He recovers at his own pace, surrounded by support, and is recovering in much better form than the initial reports proposed.
