AEW Star Mina Shirakawa Captures Interim ROH Women’s TV Title at Supercard of Honor Showdown

At the “AEW ALL IN” media event, Tony Khan revealed that Red Velvet, the reigning women’s television champion, has suffered an injury that prevents her from defending the title. As a result, an interim champion would be crowned through a four-way match at “Supercard of Honor,” featuring Sakazaki Agi, Yamashita Yu, Persephone, and Mina Shirakawa from Seihara.

Red Velvet observed the match from ringside while Persephone broke the usual rules of honor by temporarily exiting the ring, leaving the other three competitors to battle it out. The action spilled outside the ring at one point, with Persephone landing multiple punches on Yowl, creating an opportunity for Yamashita to deliver a face kick. Persephone and Yamashita then clashed, as Shirakawa attempted to seize victory by pinning each individually, but she was unsuccessful.

Sakazaki countered Yamashita with a hammerlock slam and trapped both Seihara and Yamashita in a Figure 4 leglock. Although Sakazaki interrupted the pin by hitting her magical girl Splash move, Kiyokawa soon applied a dragon screw and locked in the Figure 4 on Yamashita, forcing her to submit.

Following the match, an emotional Shirakawa tearfully stood in the ring alongside Red Velvet, signifying the passing of the interim championship moment.

Fan Take: This development is significant for AEW fans as it introduces fresh competition and storylines in the women’s division, with Mina Shirakawa’s victory positioning her as a key player. It also heightens anticipation for Red Velvet’s comeback, adding intrigue and depth to AEW’s women’s wrestling scene.
