Despite weeks of speculation, Britt Baker doesn’t seem to go anywhere.
A new behind-the-scenes report is being pushed back hard after recent chatter suggests that the former AEW world women champion wanted her contract.
According to the Wrestling Observer newsletter, Baker is not only not about to leave AEW; “Internally, the belief is that she will eventually return to the mix.” AEW officials have not confirmed her return plans, but sources within the company reportedly hope that they will reappear when the timing is good.
Tony Kahn recently featured Baker’s status during AEW ALL on a media call. When asked about conflicting reports, Khan said “She’s never spoken to me about leaving.” And it made it clear that he still has a lot of respect for her. He explained that AEW, like sports teams, has a limited number of spots on television and sometimes has to spin talent. Regarding Baker, Khan added that she will be used. “When the time comes.”
Baker’s final AEW match came back in 2024 when he defeated Penelopeford. She’s been missing from television ever since. It’s burning online rumors and fan speculation about her future. However, insiders suggest that her AEW contract could in fact be extended to 2027 as time missed the injury.
So far, there has been no confirmation when or where I will return, but the door is clearly not closed. The company considers her to be part of the roster.
