WWE Hall of Fame Trish Stratus decided to uncover long-standing rumors that have been going on since 2016.

While talking into the ropes, Trish Stratos was asked about rumors that WWE wanted Asuka to face in NXT Takeover: Toronto. This was a rumor for many years.

Stratus said it was never the case, explaining that people assumed it would happen because the event was in Toronto. She also pointed out that she wasn’t even pregnant in 2016, calling the story a falsehood and officially ranted.

“No, no, no, that was never the case, I think because Toronto and they’re like, ‘Oh, of course, it’s going to be Trish Stratos.” I don’t know if I was pregnant at the time.

Fans are finally glad to learn that there was no truth to the rumor that Trish Stratos was supposed to face Asuka in the takeover: Toronto. Mickey James was ultimately chosen as Asuka’s opponent, but it’s clear that WWE had no plans to use Stratus in the first place.
