Drew McIntyre Delivers Harsh WWE Roster Review, Tosses Out Bold Fast Food Comparisons

2 Min Read

Drew McIntyre has expressed a blunt opinion about the current WWE roster, suggesting that the majority of wrestlers might be better suited working as fast food tray carriers than as professional wrestlers. Speaking on the Impulse Podcast, the three-time world champion criticized many WWE talents for lacking the appearance and presence of true superstars.

He stated, “I don’t think 85% of our people should be in WWE. They might as well be serving me fast food. Guys, get in the gym.”

McIntyre’s concerns are rooted in WWE’s struggle to maintain mainstream popularity. He shared how his friends’ reactions highlight the stark difference between authentic stars and those he sees as questionable choices for the spotlight.

One example he gave was, “My friends tell me, ‘Yeah, I checked out wrestling briefly to see what you were up to; Logan Paul is killing it.'”

His criticism goes beyond just looks, extending to how the wrestlers connect with the audience. As a longtime fan of wrestling himself, McIntyre finds it difficult to support performers who don’t have the traditional WWE superstar image.

He added, “They might be good wrestlers and connect with fans eventually, but I’m not going to watch long enough—I’ll just change the channel.”

These remarks underscore the ongoing debate within wrestling about balancing athleticism, technical skill, and star power. While larger, imposing figures may not dominate as they once did, the 6-foot-7 star believes that smaller talents might find more success in other jobs instead of WWE.

Fan Take: McIntyre’s candid remarks shine a spotlight on the crucial issue of talent quality and presentation in WWE, which directly affects fan engagement and the company’s mainstream appeal. For WWE fans, this could signal a push for a return to more compelling, charismatic performers who embody the classic WWE superstar image, revitalizing the sport’s popularity.
