AEW has once again updated its calendar. This time, it involves the rescheduling of the “Death Before Dishonor” event, which will now take place on August 29th, 2025, instead of the originally planned date of September 5th.

The event will still be held at the legendary 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, a venue rich in wrestling history, and will feature multiple tapings for both AEW and ROH.

While some fans speculated about possible production or logistical issues, Dave Meltzer clarified in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the adjustment was primarily related to Tony Khan’s personal commitments.

“The previous Death Before Dishonor event was moved from September 5th to August 29th at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. Tony Khan has never missed a TV show, and he wouldn’t have been able to host it on September 5th due to a wedding he is attending.”

This marks the second rescheduling of the event; it was originally slated for July 11th but has shifted since then. The ROH Supercard of Honor is now set to occur the night before All: Texas. Although the updated match card has yet to be confirmed, fans can expect an announcement soon as the new date is set.

Whether supporters view this change as well-founded or disappointing, it highlights how proactive Tony Khan is in managing his show, even if it involves altering existing plans.

Though the date has changed, the excitement remains. Do you think Tony Khan made the right call, or did he hand over control to someone else? Share your thoughts in the comments!
