AEW Dynamite Results (April 29, 2026): Live Match Updates and Highlights

The show begins with commentary that welcomes us and explains the four title matches that will take place tonight. We then get a video package highlighting what happened last week as Kevin Knight defended the TNT Championship against MJF, and that match is now kicking off on Dynamite.

MJF then makes his way down to the ring for the first match of the night, followed by Kevin Knight, who is greeted by “Speedball” Mike Bailey. MJF had Justin Roberts perform the intro, specifically to show that he wasn’t from a white state like Virginia.

AEW TNT Championship Match: Jetspeed “The Jet” Kevin Knight (c) vs. MJF

The match begins with MJF kicking Knight in the stomach and sending him out of the ring. MJF then gets annoyed and sends Knight into the steel steps and hits a powerbomb into the barricade. MJF then starts teasing Knight, grabbing a nearby camera and teasing Knight before bringing it back into the ring. Knight then starts to fight back before hitting the ropes, only to be blown away by MJF. They then exchange attacks until MJF hits a vertical suplex and goes for a cover, but only gets a two count. MJF then goes for the Heat Seeker, but Knight shakes it off and hits him with a DDT.

MJF then scrambles to the ropes as Knight lays into a stomp, but MJF gets to his feet but gets caught with a powerslam from Knight. Knight follows up with a splash and cover, but MJF kicks out. Knight then stands up, but MJF rolls out of danger. Knight then takes advantage of this and goes after MJF, sending him into the barricade before returning him to the ring. MJF then tries to catch his breath again outside, but Knight hits a diving hit over the ropes. Knight then brings MJF back into the ring and MJF tries to avoid disaster again, but to no avail as Knight hits a forearm springboard.

This pattern continues until MJF goes for another Heatseeker, but Knight slips out again and they both trade for a near fall. Knight then flies to the ropes, but MJF catches him with a cutter and a cradle that only gets him a two count. MJF then heads to the corner where Knight intercepts him and Knight sends MJF to the mat before supporting the knee. Knight then goes up top and jumps off for a UFO splash, but MJF avoids this at the last moment. MJF then goes for Knight’s leg, but gets pushed into the corner, but then shoves and kicks Knight, hitting Panama Sunrise for a near fall.

Back in the ring, MJF squeezes Knight with a single leg crab and pulls Knight off the ropes. Knight then kicks MJF away to break the hold, but MJF climbs onto the turnbuckle and reverses into a thrust kick from Knight. Knight goes up top and hits a UFO splash this time, but the damage prevents him from immediately making cover, and it’s enough for MJF to kick out at two. MJF rolls onto the apron, Knight goes for a knee and a Dragon Screw Legwhip drops Knight into the ropes. He then lifted Knight for the Alabama Slam after continuing to rest his injured leg.

MJF then goes for the cover, gets two, and does it back two more times, same result. MJF was annoyed by all this and left the ring to take back the TNT Championship from the timekeeper table. He then brought the belt into the ring, only for the referee to take it away. While the referee is distracted by this, MJF pulls out the Dynamite Diamond Ring, but Knight wins with a low blow and inside cradle.

Winner and current AEW TNT Champion “The Jet” Kevin Knight of JetSpeed!

After the match, an angry MJF hits Knight with a chop block. Darby Allin is then taken down from the rafters, sneaks up behind MJF and hits the Scorpion Death Drop. MJF then retreated to the ring and told the fans, “That sucks,” before turning to Allin and saying that he barely had a shot at the TNT Championship against Knight. MJF then says he only cares about the AEW World Championship and demands a rematch. Allin then refused to do so until MJF made some decision, then stated that he knew who would be worthy of next week’s challenge if he retained the AEW World Championship. Allin then saw Knight and said he wanted to fight him next week, but Brody King’s music hit and Knight walked away. Allin then tells Knight that he can’t survive tonight’s opponent and will instead face him next Wednesday for the AEW World Championship.

King then leaves while he reviews the other matches scheduled for tonight.

Then we go to the back and Renee Paquette asks Christian Cage how his broken arm is doing. Then Christian told her not to worry. FTR made an offer for an “I Quit” match, which Christian quickly accepted. Adam Copeland told him it was interesting that he accepted it so quickly, given his history with “I Quit” matches. Christian then says that although he never claims to have quit, if Coop and Christian lose, they can never team up again.

Later, when Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor went down to the ring for their next match of the night, their opponents were already in the ring.

Tag match: The Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter, Alex Windsor) vs. Emily Jay, Jordan Blade

The match begins with Windsor vs. Blade, with Windsor countering Blade with heavy attacks and teaming up with Hater to continue the attack. Jay then tries to get involved, but she is sent outside the ring before Birds hits the Two Birds One Stone for the win.

Winners of the tag team match, The Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter & Alex Windsor)!

After the match, the Brawling Birds celebrate as commentary talks about Swerve Strickland representing AEW in the NFL Draft.

AEW Women’s World Champion Tecla then cuts a promo and says she’s calling everyone stupid bi*** because that’s what they are. Then, in response to Julia Hart getting fogged in the face, Thekla told the Brawling Birds to stick to the tag team division because she is everything and they are nothing when it comes to singles matches.

Kazuchika Okada then makes his way to the ring for his next match of the night, followed by Ace Austin.

AEW International Championship Match: Don Callis Family’s “Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. Bang Bang Gang’s Ace Austin

The match begins with Austin trying to get the upper hand on Okada, but Okada quickly takes advantage and knocks Austin to the mat for a near fall. Okada continues to attack, but Austin cuts back and lifts Okada and sends him into the corner. Okada then receives a diving enziguiri from Austin, only to avoid the dive and watch Austin do a handstand to avoid being thrown off the apron. Okada praised this before Austin gained momentum, but Okada sent Austin down hard to the floor with a DDT. And Okada praised his efforts in keeping Austin at bay.

Okada drops Austin in the ring with a backbreaker, then goes up top and hits an elbow drop. He then held up his middle finger and played to the crowd before forcing Austin to his feet. Austin then fights back and sends Okada through the ropes to the outside. Austin dodges Okada’s attack again with a handstand and lands a kick to Okada’s face. Austin then hits a Fosbury flop, sending Okada to the floor before returning to the ring. Okada begins to fight back, but is hit with a strong kick that knocks him to the canvas. Okada heads for the corner, but Austin intercepts him and follows him with a springboard legdrop for a nearfall.

Okada goes to the opposite corner and kicks Austin in the face for a two count of his own, but Austin avoids a dropkick. Austin then charged at Okada and sent him to the mat with a sunset flip. He goes for a springboard legdrop in the corner, but gets caught with a dropkick. Okada then goes for the Rainmaker, but gets hit with a backslide for a two count. Okada then hits a dropkick and follows up with a tombstone piledriver and rainmaker for the win.

Winner and current AEW International Champion, “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada of the Don Callis Family!

After the match, Juice Robinson and Austin are about to attack Okada and Don Callis. Mark Davis then leaves for reinforcements, and before the double-or-nothing match, Konosuke Takeshita appears on the entrance ramp and glares at Okada.

A video package is then shown advertising the return of the “Most Wanted” Bandido, but when Swerve Strickland is given a lighter to burn a wanted poster with the luchador’s face on it, we see the man who now wants him the most appear.

Then I received a message from Death Rider. Will Ospreay enters the room and tells Jon Moxley that he’s not cleared, but that won’t stop him from going to Japan for the big title match. Jon Moxley then tells Ospreay that his loyalty is too good to be true. Moxley then tells Ospreay that he needs to throw away his head, heart, and everything in his stomach. Moxley then says he won’t make any promises or promises, but he will follow through until the end. Moxley then says he just wants the same in return. It appears that Will Ospreay is now part of the Death Riders, and Ospreay asks where the ring is. Moxley then says they are training on the ground.

FTR and Stokely Hathaway then exit and join commentary for the next match of the night. Christian Cage and Adam Copeland come down to the ring next, followed by RPG Vice.

Tag match: Cage & Coop (Christian Cage and “R Superstar” Adam Copeland) vs. Don Callis’ RPG Vice (Trent Beretta and Rocky “Azkar” Romero)

The match begins with a combination of Christian Cage and Rocky Romero, with Cage carrying Romero to the corner. Romero then fights back and takes Cage to the mat before posing, but this only frustrates Cage, who continues to attack. Cage then tags Copeland. Copeland then hits Romero some more until Trent Beretta makes the tag. Cage then takes Beretta out of the ring and slams him into the barricade before taking him to the ringside area, where he is blindsided by Romero.

Orange Cassidy then appears with a popcorn bucket and he dodges Stokely’s right hand before dumping the popcorn onto his body. This leads to a brawl with FTR, and FTR pushes through the crowd as Beretta drops the cage with a knee strike to the floor. Back in the ring, Beretta worked on Cage’s injured arm before knocking Copeland off the apron, allowing him to go for a cover. Copeland then slides and breaks the pin. Romero makes another tag and slams Cage into the corner.

He then sets Cage against the turnbuckle and sets up a flying cross armbreaker, allowing Cage to reach the ropes and break. Beretta is tagged in as Cage starts to fight back, but Romero tags in again to stop the momentum, only to be chased back by Cage. Copeland goes for the tag and both are down. Copeland and Beretta are now in court, but Copeland has backed Beretta into a corner. Beretta counters with an elbow, but ends up charging at Impaler instead. Copeland then goes for a cover, but Romero breaks it up just in time.

Cage then blocks a double team RPG Vice, allowing Copeland a nearfall before Cage enters the ring. Cage and Romero then fall outside and Copeland goes for a Spear on Beretta, Beretta rolls Copeland up and goes for the pin, but the referee catches her foot on the ropes and the match ends. Beretta then started arguing with the referee about this until he was speared by Copeland and won.

Winners of the tag team match, Cage & Cope (Christian Cage and “Rated R Superstar” Adam Copeland)!

After the match, Cage grabbed a microphone and a chair from ringside, broke part of the chair and handed it to Copeland. Copeland then used it for the Crossface, telling Cage to say what he knew he needed to say to Beretta. Beretta then struggles with a metal object in her mouth, but eventually cries out, “I quit,” but Cage says he would never say that. Copeland’s music then played as Cage and Copeland posed with their tag belts.

Next, let’s take a look at what happened earlier tonight when Chris Jericho started talking to Ricochet, who was blindsided by The Demand. Ricochet then tells Jericho that he should have left, but Jericho tells him to “eat it” and GOA hits him even more, with Ricochet teasing him with a moonsault and telling Jericho he isn’t even worth it. Then Ricochet laughs.

Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night, followed by Megan Bayne and Lena Cross.

AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship Match: Divine Dominion (“The Megasus” Megan Bain and Lena Cross) (c) vs. Hikaru Shida and Chris Statlander

The match begins with Hikaru Shida targeting Megan Bayne and Lena Cross, but Cross sends Shida into the corner with a shoulder charge. He then slams Shida to the mat with a beer toss, and Cross evades Shida with a shoulder tackle and makes a tag with Bane. After another double shoulder tackle on Shida, Bane goes for a fallaway slam. Shida then takes the brunt of the damage and sends Bane to the corner for a knee strike. Bane then stopped a flying knee from the ropes, slammed Shida to the canvas, and sent him out of the ring to catch his breath.

There seems to be some kind of rupture between Shida and Statlender as Statlender holds out a kendo stick before Bane charges in, and somewhere in all of this Shida suplexes Statlender onto Bane for damage. Statlander doesn’t seem happy with this strategy, but goes after Bane and teams up with Cross for a double team on Statlander. Bane is forced out of the ring as Statlander continues to pursue Kross, but she turns things around with Bane’s intervention. Afterwards, Statlender evades a series of hits from Bane and Cross and attempts a tag to Shida.

Bane then pulls her away and sends Statrender into the ropes, only to be placed with a clothesline. Shida then gets the tag as does Cross, and the two exchange blows in the center of the ring. Shida is then sent to the corner and hits a dropkick on Cross. Cross then fights back and sends Shida to the ropes, but Shida drops Cross onto the ropes and hits a knee strike that sends Divine Dominion off the apron to the floor. Shida then brings Kross back into the ring, but takes a crescent kick before Statlander can tag himself.

Cross then kept her at bay and incorporated Bane, who then hit a release German suplex and covered, getting a two count. Bane then hits the ropes and Cross tags in, but Statlender counters with a Blue Thunder Bomb on Bane and a roundhouse kick to Cross. Statlender then hits a 450 splash off the top turnbuckle. Statlander then covers Cross and Cross kicks out. He then makes a tag to Shida, and Shida drops Cross with a kick and covers it with a Falcon Arrow, but Cross kicks out. Shida then went for Katana, but was dropped by Bane and beaten by Statrender before Divine Dominion could defeat her. Divine Dominion then hit a double chokeslam for the win.

Winners and current AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions Divine Dominion (“The Megasus” Megan Bain and Lena Cross)!

After the match, Divine Dominion celebrates their victory.

We then headed to the back where Andrade El Idro and Don Callis’ interview was interrupted by an angry MJF. He then accuses Andrade of leading to the champion’s loss of the title, but I wonder how El Idro will react to this. This only enrages the former champion, who pushes Andrade away, but Don interrupts and tells them to focus on business for now.

RUSH then goes down to the ring for his next match of the night, but his opponent is already in the ring.

Single match: LFI’s “El Toro Blanco” RUSH vs. Stephen Strong

The match started with RUSH pushing Fuerte out of the arena. He then slammed Fuerte into the barricade and returned him to the ring, charging into the corner for the Stomp. RUSH then went for The Horns, the crowd chanting his name, and pulled Fuerte to the center of the ring for the victory.

Single match winner, LFI’s “El Toro Blanco” RUSH!

After the match, RUSH grabbed the microphone and yelled in Spanish before saying his catchphrase: If you touch The Bull, you’re The Horns.

We then head to the backside where Renee Paquette speaks to The Ops as Samoa Joe talks about his return with his sons, including recruit Anthony Bowens. He then took on Will Ospreay, and it also appears that another faction wants to bring the former international champion into their fold.

We then head to the back where FTR and Stokely reveal that they have allies to deal with Orange Cassidy after what they did tonight. Tommaso Ciampa will team up with them in what is being billed as a Double Jeopardy Match, with the winners earning a tag or trios title shot, depending on the winner.

Brody King then makes his way down to the ring for the main event of the night, followed by Darby Allin.

AEW World Championship Match: Darby Allin (c) vs. Brodie King

The match begins with a display of sportsmanship as Allin charges King into the corner. Allin then drags King to the mat with a code red off the turnbuckle, but only gets a count of two. King then leaves the ring as Allin goes for a dive, only to be dropped to the floor by King. King then takes Allin to the guardrail and sits him on a chair before charging in, but Allin catches King in a drop toe hold and slams King face first into the chair. Allin then pulls the chair away and sets it up to hit King a few more times before going up top for a missile dropkick. King then falls off the chair to the floor.

King then slams Allin to the floor with a Urange and sends him off the announce desk. He then removed its lid and propped it up against the barricade to see Kevin Knight watching from the crowd. Allin gets up and goes for a sleeper hold on King, but King slams them both into the table cover. The crowd got excited about this, as MJF watched backstage and saw the referee check on both men until King stood up. King then gets Allin to his feet as well, but Allin fights back with some blows. This then spills over to the announce desk and King ends up catching Allin in a sleeper hold.

Allin then escaped just enough to fight back with a Code Red, driving King into a table, but he wouldn’t give up. Allin then manages to slowly make his way back into the ring, and King gets back up, only to be sent back to his desk by a dive from Allin. Allin then gets back in the ring and climbs onto the turnbuckle, but King intercepts him and drops him into the Tree of Woe for a cannonball. King then gets Allin to his feet and goes for a hard lariat and a cover, but King only gets a two count. Allin then tries to fight back but is quickly body-loaded with another lariat, but Allin manages to defend his title by getting his shoulders up and this only results in a near fall.

Allin then ducks King in the corner and hits a series of chops, sending King flying over the top rope and out of bounds, colliding with a cameraman on his way to the floor. This creates an opening for King to chase Allin on the outside. King then rips the mat off the floor and Allin crawls onto the guardrail and lunges at Allin, causing Allin to narrowly escape and forcing King to charge in his place. Allin then returns to the ring with King slowly following him and they fight on the apron until King goes for a suplex to the outside.

Allin then sends him into the exposed concrete with a sunset powerbomb instead. He then climbed the turnbuckle and performed a coffin drop, slamming into King as the referee started counting. Allin then returns to the ring as the count reaches eight and nine, before King slides in but is blindsided with a coffin drop. Allin then races to the top again and gets another coffin drop for the win.

Winner and current AEW World Champion Darby Allin!

After the match, King shook hands with Allin and exited the ring. Allin then stands tall on the turnbuckle, holding up the AEW World Championship belt and staring at Kevin Knight in the crowd as the show draws to a close.
