Stokely Hathaway is set to compete in his first singles match in over two years on the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite.
During Wednesday Night’s show, a behind-the-scenes interview with wrestling veteran Adam Copeland took place. He initially discussed Christian Cage before shifting focus to FTR and Stokely Hathaway.
Cope explained the No Contact clause that Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, the FTR duo, had imposed on him.
The Hall of Famer later disclosed that he approached Tony Khan and secured a match against Stokely Hathaway, FTR’s manager, for next week’s Dynamite. The No Contact rule does not apply to Hathaway, so if Harwood and Wheeler get involved, the restriction is void.
Stokely Hathaway last competed in August 2024 at the London Pay-Per-View event. He teamed up with Kris Statlander in a tag match against Tomohiro Ishii and Willow Nightingale.
His previous singles bout was in a March 2023 episode of Dynamite, where he was quickly defeated by former FTW Champion Hook via disqualification.
Additionally, AEW has announced a singles match between Kevin Knight and John Moxley for next week’s show.
Fan Take: This marks a significant return for Stokely Hathaway, whose in-ring absence has been notable. AEW fans should be excited, as his involvement in singles competition could shake up dynamics and add fresh intrigue to the evolving storylines.
