AEW Star Set to Make Lasting Impact, Says Tony Kahn

2 Min Read

Tony Khan recently spoke about the injury to one of AEW’s top stars. During an interview on my mother’s underground podcast, AEW’s president shared his thoughts on John Moxley’s leadership as the world champion. Khan highlighted Moxley’s vision for the promotion and how he’s been pushing himself by taking on challenges from rising talent. He mentioned several wrestlers who have benefited from going up against Moxley, including Jay White. Khan noted that Jay White, a former leader of the Bullet Club, is expected to be out of action for a significant period due to injury.

“I saw the wrestler step up. Some tried to challenge John Moxley midway but fell short. Early in Moxley’s reign, there were casualties like Darby Allin, who had an impressive run against Moxley. Jay White, one of the best wrestlers globally, got hurt along the way and is set to be sidelined for a long time,” Khan explained.

Khan also revealed that White’s injury has prompted major creative shifts. He emphasized that Jay White is a superstar who usually fits perfectly into their storylines, so losing him is a big setback. Jay White last appeared on the March 29 episode, where he faced Kevin Knight. Although he had planned to compete in the 2025 Owen Hart Cup, a hand injury forced him to withdraw, and he was written off TV following an attack by the Death Rider.

Fan Take: This news is significant for AEW fans because Jay White’s prolonged absence disrupts key storylines and opens the door for new talent to rise. It also highlights how injuries to top stars can directly impact the creative direction and momentum of the sport.
