Rhodes said, “I wish someone else had done it, so I wish I could say it wasn’t true. You get a rock in the ring, you have a Cena in the ring, but my man Travis — no love lost — he hits hard. Yes, it busted my eardrum. I wonder if someone ever slapped him or hit him with a Cross Rhodes. Our house is yours.”
When asked about the wrestling term “potatoes,” Rhodes used Scott’s punch as a perfect example. He explained, “Potatoes happen when you’re obviously giving the opponent an easy hit. You’re running, expecting to be super-kicked, and the other person just watches as the kick connects fully. The face is vulnerable, especially around the teeth, nose, and eyes. Potatoes often come with consequences.”
In response, Rhodes jokingly said he gave Scott “his receipt to the receipt,” suggesting he gave back some payback for the punch.
