Over the last two years, AEW wrestler Kyle Fletcher has been making steady progress in the company, with his momentum increasing notably in recent months. On July 31, Fletcher defeated Dustin Rhodes to claim the TNT Championship. On the “Bust Open Radio,” TNA star Nick Nemeth praised Fletcher, seeing a promising future for the 26-year-old in AEW.

Fletcher shared, “They are fully committed to developing their young talent, who represent the future. This guy even shaved his head to fit a role for half of last year. I really believe he could be a main event fixture for the next 10 to 20 years.”

Shaving his head on AEW Dynamite was significant for Fletcher. Aside from the bold new look, it symbolized his defeat by Will Ospreay, whom he turned against just days prior. The segment also established Fletcher as a major antagonist in AEW, setting the stage for a heated rivalry.

Since late 2023, Fletcher has been working closely with Don Callis, and Nemeth feels Fletcher has picked up valuable lessons from this experienced performer. During a recent promo together, Nemeth noticed Fletcher could elicit a crowd reaction as strong as Callis’, indicating his strong potential. Nemeth believes Fletcher has a bright future, but he needs to develop a few more aspects of his persona first.

“He’s taller than most on the roster. When he embraces his size—not just looking big, but working as a big man—I think that’s when he’ll truly take off,” Nemeth explained.

Fan Take: This development is exciting for AEW fans because Kyle Fletcher’s rise signals the company’s dedication to building long-term stars from within its ranks. Seeing a young talent like Fletcher poised for major success adds fresh energy to AEW’s scene and could lead to memorable moments that elevate the sport.
