A former WWE superstar is making a return with a match scheduled at the upcoming NXT Premium Live event. Recently, at the TNA Wrestling Slamiverse, NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne defeated Masha Slamovich to claim the TNA Knockout Championship, becoming a double champion. Jayne is set to defend her TNA title against Ash by Elegance, formerly known as Dana Brooke in WWE, indicating their rivalry is far from over.
On the August 12 episode of WWE NXT, it was announced that Jayne will defend her TNA Knockout title at HeatWave PLE on August 24 in a triple threat match against Ash by Elegance and Masha Slamovich. Leading up to this, next week’s NXT episode will feature Jayne teaming up with Fallon Henley and Jazmyn Nyx in a six-woman tag match against Ash by Elegance and her brand allies.
This will mark Ash by Elegance’s first WWE or NXT match since her release in September 2023. Although she has appeared in crossover events via the TNA partnership, she hasn’t competed in WWE programming since her departure.
Fan Take: This development is exciting for WWE fans as it signals the return of familiar talent and fresh matchups that blend storylines across brands. Jacy Jayne’s dual championship reign and the reintroduction of Ash by Elegance could lead to compelling rivalries and elevate the overall competition within women’s wrestling in WWE.
