NXT Gold Rush Week 2: Title Switch Shakes Up the Tapings

WWE has completed filming the second week of the NXT Gold Rush event, scheduled to air on The CW on November 25th. While fans will need to wait to watch the show, one significant title change has already been announced.

During the taping, Ray Ying Lee captured the TNA Knockouts World Championship by defeating NXT Superstar Kehlani Jordan in a triple threat match that also featured former Knockouts Champion Jordynen Grace from NXT.

Jordan had previously lost the title to Ash by Elegance but regained it at TNA Victory Road in September by overcoming Xia Li. Now, Xia Li has returned the favor by helping Ray Ying Lee claim the championship.

Throughout her reign, Jordan competed in both WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling. As champion, she aligned herself with TNA during ShowDown, leading the Knockouts team against NXT Superstars. This loyalty shift caused her to be shunned by the WWE NXT women’s roster and ultimately drove her heel turn.

On Night 1 of WWE NXT Gold Rush, Jaycee Jayne swiftly ended Tatum Paxley’s championship run to secure the NXT Women’s Championship. These title changes have significantly altered the dynamics of both the NXT Women’s Division and the TNA Knockouts Division.

Fan Take: This development is huge for TNA Wrestling enthusiasts as it injects fresh excitement and unpredictability into the Knockouts division. The shifting titles promise new rivalries and storylines that could elevate the sport’s competitive edge and fan engagement.
