Kam Skatebo Claps Back at WWE RAW Critics: “Unfollow Me If You Don’t Like It”

New York Giants running back Cam Skatebo has responded to criticism over his appearance on WWE Monday Night RAW while he is sidelined with a season-ending ankle injury. The rookie, who sustained a dislocated ankle, fractured fibula, and torn deltoid ligament during a Week 8 game against Philadelphia, was criticized by some New York sports radio hosts for attending the event at Madison Square Garden on the final episode of John Cena’s RAW on November 17, with critics saying it was inappropriate for an injured player.

Still wearing a protective boot after surgery on October 27, Skatebo was ringside alongside teammates Abdul Carter and Roy Robertson-Harris when the Judgment Day faction approached comedian Andrew Schultz. After a playful jab about the Giants’ defense, Skatebo pushed J.D. McDonough, leading to a staged confrontation.

The Arizona State University fourth-round draft pick didn’t hold back on social media, stating, “Well, honestly, if you don’t like that I’m having a good time during a tough time, feel free to unfollow and move on.” Known among teammates as “Nature Boy” because of his passion for pro wrestling, Skatebo explained that he is seeking joy during his recovery. “Since I can’t play football and enjoy the things I’ve always loved, I’m trying to think outside the box to find happiness,” he said, adding, “Enjoy the rest of your week. If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t talk about me.”

He assured fans that he was cautious during his WWE appearance, keeping his injured leg elevated off the ground to avoid risking his recovery. Following his notable presence on Cena’s final RAW at MSG, WWE has even launched official Cam Skatebo merchandise.
