IYO SKY Shares the WWE Female Superstar She’s Eager to Face Next

2 Min Read

IYO SKY, who debuted in 2007, has established herself as one of the top female wrestlers globally, with major successes in Stardom (Japan) and WWE (North America). In WWE, she has achieved nearly every accolade and faced many of the company’s biggest female stars. However, there are still a few notable wrestlers she hasn’t yet faced in singles competition. During a recent chat on the Insight podcast with Chris Van Vleet, SKY shared who she’s eager to challenge next.

She mentioned wanting to have a singles match against Alexa Bliss, with whom she has only teamed up in tag matches so far. They have also exchanged WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships in 2022 when SKY was part of Damage CTRL and Bliss was teaming with Asuka before she joined Damage CTRL. Despite her desire for a singles bout, SKY and Bliss will soon be on the same team in the upcoming War Games match at Survivor Series on November 29th.

Regarding Becky Lynch, SKY already had a one-on-one match against the current WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion on the March 27, 2023 episode of WWE Raw, which Lynch won. However, since then, much has changed, and a future singles match between them would likely have a very different dynamic.

Fan Take: This revelation from IYO SKY is exciting for WWE fans because it hints at potential fresh and highly anticipated matchups that could elevate the women’s division even further. The prospect of seeing SKY face Alexa Bliss or square off again with Becky Lynch promises thrilling storytelling and top-tier wrestling that could redefine rivalries and championship pursuits in WWE.
