On Tuesday’s episode of “NXT: Gold Rush,” “The Never-Seen Seventeen” revealed the roster for the upcoming Men’s and Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge, featuring a mix of former and current champions, setting the stage for the “NXT: Deadline” event.
Cena kicked off the announcements for the Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge by introducing Jevon Evans and current TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater, highlighting them as exceptional young talents at just 21 years old. Joe Hendry, described as the quintessential self-made superstar, was named the third entrant, followed by current NXT Tag Team Champion Dion Lennox as the fourth. The final spot went to Miles Bourne, who earned his place by defeating former NXT Champion Trick Williams in the Gold Rush main event.
For the Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge, Cena’s first pick was former NXT Women’s North American Champion and WWE Speed Women’s Champion Sol Luka, announced to Laura Weiss, a participant in the second Iron Survivor Challenge. The recently dethroned TNA Knockouts Champion Kehlani Jordan was the third choice, with Jordynne Grace—hailed by Cena as the embodiment of strength—taking the fourth spot. The last position was awarded to WWE EVOLVE Women’s Champion Kendall Gray, who recently defended her title successfully against Lainey Reed.
These Iron Survivor Challenge matches for both men and women will take place on Saturday, December 6, at “Deadline” in San Antonio. The winner of each challenge will earn an opportunity to compete for the NXT or NXT Women’s Championship.
