Lacey Evans Delivers Scathing Critique of Becky Lynch’s WWE In-Ring Performance

Lacey Evans recently addressed remarks made by Becky Lynch regarding their rivalry following the WrestleMania 35 main event. Evans, who left WWE in August 2023, was upset by Lynch’s comments about their feud that took place in April 2019. Becky Lynch, alongside her husband Seth Rollins, appeared on comedian Bert Kreischer’s YouTube show “Something’s Burning,” where she discussed various topics including her WWE career and her choice to face Evans after beating Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair at the first-ever Women’s WrestleMania main event. Lynch expressed frustration about moving from such a historic match to wrestling someone she felt hadn’t accomplished much. In response, Evans took to X (formerly Twitter) to defend herself, saying, “Don’t hate the players. Hate the game,” and recalling moments they shared backstage. She also recalled attempting a finishing move called the woman’s right on Lynch, who reportedly cried during rehearsals.

Evans, whose real name is Macy Estrella Kadlec, pushed back against Lynch’s critiques, even criticizing a moonsault move described by commentator Michael Cole. Lynch ended up defeating Evans at WWE Money in the Bank in May 2019, though Evans later interfered in a match leading to Charlotte Flair regaining the SmackDown Women’s Championship.

Since leaving WWE, Evans hasn’t returned to wrestling but has been focusing on other ventures. She opened Sunny Summers Cafe in South Carolina, which aims to tackle community issues such as mental health and addiction, and authored a book titled “The Last Heart Beating.” A former U.S. Marine and military police officer, Evans spent five years with WWE and was once seen as a key long-term figure on the women’s roster, but her wrestling momentum declined after her promotion to the main roster. Now 35, she is also a wife and mother of two daughters.
