WWE SmackDown will air tonight, December 5, 2025, live from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. This is one of the most stacked episodes of the road to WWE ever. WWE SmackDown Results (12/5/25): Live Match Updates and Highlights
Michael Cole and Corey Graves will be on commentary. WarGames replays are shown. LA Night, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte are shown arriving at the arena.
Drew McIntyre arrives at the arena, but Nick Aldis stops him at the entrance. Drew insists that his suspension is over, but Nick says his suspension is still in place and he is not allowed inside.
Security intervenes and tells Drew to leave. Drew is clearly annoyed and says it’s not for Nick, it’s for security so he can get home safely tonight. Suddenly, Cody Rhodes burst in and attacked Drew near the car. Security quickly separates them and takes Cody away. Cody then runs through the backstage area and heads straight to the ring.
Cody Rhodes appears in the ring and asks Nick Aldis to bring Drew McIntyre back. He says Drew crossed the line by showing up at his house. Cody tells him: “You came to my house, where my wife was sleeping and my children were playing.” He says Drew is like a cockroach and impossible to get rid of. “I could drop 1.2 megatons on you, I could split an atom, and you’d still be here, because you’re WWE’s resident cockroach.”
Cody said this match could happen anywhere, but it needed to happen in a WWE ring. Drew didn’t beat him, but he probably beat him. He tells Aldis to release the suspension so he can stomp Drew completely.
Tommaso Ciampa says he plans to talk to Nick Aldis about making a U.S. title match possible. Johnny Gargano has hinted that they could go for the tag team titles instead. As they were talking, Carmelo Hayes walked by and interrupted them. He told Ciampa that he might want to reschedule the title match. he There is: Then he grins, calls Ciampa an idiot, and keeps walking.
Damian Priest says he’s tired of hearing Cody’s story go round and round. He wonders if Cody really thinks he can destroy him or if he’s just delusional. The priest said Cody only delayed the inevitable and made things personal by involving his wife and family. Now the priest is bringing his family.
Rhea Ripley intervenes and says Cody should have known he was on Priest’s side. They have been through everything together. If Cody thought he wouldn’t be involved, he was wrong. She concluded by saying she will be facing Cody and Brandi next week.
Ilya Dragunov vs. Carmelo Hayes Men’s U.S. Championship
Ilya Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes lock up to start the match. Hayes hits Elijah with a pie face, side headlock and shoulder tackle. Elijah responds with a shoulder tackle of his own. They traded chops, and before Hayes could fight back, Elijah landed a hard chop. Elijah connects a running boot to the head and sends Hayes into the turnbuckle. He follows up with a running knee, but Hayes catches him with a lunge kick and knocks Elijah onto the apron.
Elijah recovers with a chop and then a boot to the head. He tries to pull Hayes into position near the corner, but Hayes gets to his feet and counters with a press slam. Hayes climbs onto the turnbuckle, but Elijah slaps Hayes and hits a running boot that sends Hayes to the floor. Hayes is on his knees after the fall.
Elijah regains control and targets Hayes’ knee with a kick, followed by a powerful chop. He then hit a backdrop driver on the edge of the apron. Hayes fights back with forearms, but Elijah fights back with hard forearms and chops. Elijah continues to attack with kicks and knees, slamming Hayes and going to the turnbuckle for a knee drop, but gets a near fall.
Ilya lands a reverse chinlock and hits a series of punches, spinning backfists, and back sentones for a near fall. He grabs a front facelock and trades punches. Hayes surprises Elijah with an inside cradle for a near fall, but Elijah flies out with a clothesline and gets another close two count. Elijah rains elbows into the back of Hayes’ head, followed by a suplex for a near fall.
Ilya locks up an armbar on Fujiwara, but Hayes powers up and connects with a knee strike. Elijah blocks the next kick and hits a German suplex, then holds on and hits a second German suplex. Elijah holds on after the second German suplex, moves into an abdominal stretch, and repeatedly drives his elbow into Hayes’ collarbone. Hayes manages to escape before Elijah hits a wrist clutch suplex.
Hayes fights back with a series of chops and forearms. Elijah responds with a forearm and a chop. Hayes stuns Elijah with a facebuster, but Elijah quickly counters with a sharp kick, Elijah goes for the Constantine Special but misses, and Hayes takes advantage with a springboard clothesline. He followed La Mistica with a nearfall. Hayes goes for the Fast 48, but Elijah blocks it and powers through, turning it into a powerbomb. Elijah sets off a hydrogen bomb, but Hayes gets to his knees in the nick of time. Elijah bounces off the ropes and Hayes rounds him up for a near fall.
Elijah fights back with kicks and hits a high clothesline with a belly-to-back suplex. He heads to the apron and climbs the turnbuckle, but Hayes recovers and nails him with a running dropkick, knocking Elijah to the floor. Hayes follows up with a slingshot DDT to the apron and throws Elijah into the ringside fence. Hayes climbs to the top rope, but while the referee is checking Elijah, Tommaso Ciampa appears and straddles Hayes behind the referee. Illya took advantage of this and hit the Torpedo Moscow, followed by the Hydro Bomb for a three count.
Winner: Ilya Dragunov (NXT Championship)
After the match, Elijah watches the replay on the screen to see how Ciampa intervened. He is clearly angry.
Backstage, Kathy Kelly is with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. She brings up her victory at Survivor Series and asks if that victory came from putting aside her issues with Rhea Ripley. Charlotte says the win wasn’t about Leah, it was for Alexa. She admits that she needs her and would be lost without her. Alexa responds by joking that she’s been proud of Charlotte’s social skills since Survivor Series. Charlotte then says her next goal is to regain the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Backstage, Kathy Kelly is with LA Night. She asks what tonight’s victory means to him. Knight says he’s not interested in talking about the dream match. He’s said it before – defeating John Cena will solidify his legacy. Now, only one man stands in his way. He brings up Gunther’s impressive resume as a former U.S. and world champion, but Gunther says he has never faced anyone like him. Knight calls himself an unstoppable force and promises that tonight will be no different. He finished by saying that if it’s a fight Gunther wants, he’ll get it. Because, like everyone else, Günther will be knocked off his head.
Alexa Bliss vs. Kairi Sane
Kairi Sane and Alexa Bliss lock up in a stalemate. Both men are tied again and forced into the corner, but Sane kicks out after the break. Alexa sends Sane to the apron and tries to land a punch but misses. Sarne hits Alexa with her shoulder in the chest, but mistimes her step off the turnbuckle. They trade rollups for nearfalls. Saan slaps Alexa and mocks her height. Alexa fights back with a slap, takes her down with an STO, and follows up with a flip senton.
Cern rolled to the floor and tried to right herself, but ended up hitting Charlotte Flair in the face. Asuka takes advantage of this opportunity and sweeps Alexa’s foot off the apron. Sign then performs an Alabama Slam into the ringside barrier. She and Asuka hugged each other before continuing the match. Saan hits a chop, rolls over and beats the count, goes back to the floor and sends Alexa into the apron. Back in the ring, Sane goes up top and hits a flying forearm for a nearfall.
Sane continues to apply pressure with punches to the back of Alexa’s neck. Alexa fights back with punches and kicks, but Sane wants more. She blocks a kick and hits a forearm for another near fall. Kairi Sane goes for a Boston Crab, but Alexa reaches for the ropes and forces a break. While the referee is distracted by Sane, Charlotte Flair also gets the referee’s attention, giving Asuka an opening to choke Alexa on the ropes.
Sane follows up with a forearm to Alexa’s back for a near fall. She keeps the pressure on with a running forearm in the corner, slams Alexa and climbs the turnbuckle. Alexa recovers and punches and mutilates Thane. She tries to climb for a superplex, but Sane blocks her and hits a headbutt, which sends Alexa into the Tree of Woe. Sane follows up with a double stomp and goes for a near fall.
Kairi Sane goes for the Sliding D, but Alexa moves and Sane slams into the turnbuckle. Alexa fights back with slaps, punches, knees, and dropkicks. She follows with a blockbuster.
As Alexa prepares Sister Abigail, Asuka distracts herself by jumping on the apron. Sarne rolls Alexa up from behind, only to get a near fall. Charlotte defeats Asuka with a floor kick. Meanwhile, Sane hits Alexa with a spinning backfist, then goes up top and goes for an Insane Elbow. Alexa got to her feet in the nick of time and caught Sane in the air, then hit Sister Abigail for the three count.
Winner: Alexa Bliss
After the match, Rush Legend and Nia Jax ambush Alexa and Charlotte from behind. Nia punches Alexa and follows up with a Samoan Drop on Flair. Sanae stands frozen in the corner, not knowing what to do. Asuka steps forward and backfists Nia and kicks Rush. Nia recovers with a pop-up headbutt. Sane tries to help Nia with a sleeper, but Nia throws him off with a snapmare and Rush drops Sane with a big boot. Nia climbs the turnbuckle and goes for the Annihilator, but Asuka pulls Sane out of the ring just in time.
Backstage, Nick Aldis tells Daphne to be careful in the parking lot. Cody Rhodes arrives and tells Nick that he has calmed down and asks if everything is okay.
After a while, Ricky Saints and Oba Femi came into the office. They wonder why they were called after last night’s game. Cody next week Saturday night main eventHe wants to give the winner of the next match a big chance.
