WWE’s Saturday Night Main Event is gearing up to be a major event on December 13th. As the countdown to John Cena’s final match continues, he emphasizes that he doesn’t want this show to be just a farewell tribute. In keeping with that spirit, he has promised to showcase emerging talent. Unfortunately, Leon Slater, who was slated for a prominent match, has had to cancel another appearance.

During WWE RAW on December 8th, it was revealed that Leon Slater is set to team up with Jevon Evans to challenge WWE World Tag Team Champions AJ Styles and Dragon Lee. Regrettably, Slater will not be able to participate in wXw’s upcoming event as a result.

Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful Select reported that he reached out to wXw regarding Slater’s absence even before the match was announced. WwX officials mentioned that Slater had been booked for the show since March but couldn’t attend due to scheduling conflicts. They had initially adjusted the dates to fit Slater’s TNA commitments, and he remained “positive and kind as always” during his latest wXw appearance.

After WWE confirmed Slater’s participation in Saturday Night’s main event, a source from wXw indicated that this was anticipated by the promotion, but they wished they had received communication from WWE sooner—something that made Slater’s situation more complicated.

Furthermore, discussions with TNA officials have revealed their support for Slater being booked by WWE, viewing this as evidence of a strengthening partnership between the two organizations. RevPro has not yet responded to inquiries for comment.

Leon Slater’s contract with TNA Wrestling is set to expire in 2026, making it intriguing to speculate where his career might lead next.
