Reports indicate that Dominik Mysterio sustained a real shoulder injury during the main event of the AAA Titan War in Guadalajara, Mexico, potentially putting him on the sidelines for a while.
The Judgment Day member joined forces with El Grande Americano to face Rey Fenix and his father, WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio, in a match filled with tension. Unfortunately, the final moments of the bout may have serious repercussions for him.
According to Brian Alvarez, Dominik’s injury occurred when he took a DDT from Rey Mysterio in the match’s closing stages. His landing looked problematic, and after exiting the ring with limited arm mobility, it was evident that something was amiss.
“Dom hurt his shoulder towards the end of tonight’s main event after getting a DDT from his dad,” Alvarez reported. “From the way he landed, it seems like he might have separated his shoulder. Depending on how serious it is, he might face a short recovery or, in the worst case, surgery. We’ll only find out after he gets checked out since he had minimal arm movement.”
The match concluded with interference from Penta, who returned after being previously ejected due to an injury scenario. Penta stopped El Grande Americano from using his weapon, employing a hidden object in his mask, while Rey Mysterio executed a 619 to set up Dominik for the pinfall.
After the final bell, Dominik, clearly in pain, pushed Americano away in frustration and walked backstage alone, clutching his shoulder. Meanwhile, Americano exchanged handshakes with Rey Mysterio before departing as well.
The injury comes at a precarious time, just ahead of the Royal Rumble set for January 31, 2026. Should surgery be necessary, Dominik could miss out during WWE’s busiest season.
