Sherilyn Guerrero is about to make her debut in the wrestling ring, and now it makes sense why she took her time. The daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Eddie Guerrero, who is training at Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling School, shared that her decision to pursue wrestling goes beyond family legacy.
In a recent chat on The Hardy Wrestling Podcast, Sherilyn discussed her personal journey towards stepping into the ring. Despite growing up in the wrestling world, she initially wasn’t interested in following her family’s famous path.
“I grew up thinking I didn’t want to be involved in wrestling. My mom got into it first, then my sister, so I thought it might be okay to distance myself from the sport.”
Everything shifted in 2025 when she spoke with other wrestlers from wrestling families, like Zira Fatu and Roman Reigns, who made her realize the significance of this heritage.
“This year, I met Jira Fatu, Roman, and a few others. They really taught me that wrestling is in our blood. I can especially think of our fathers—both were deeply invested in wrestling.”
She mentioned that even though her fans have urged her to make her debut for years, it was her father’s humility that made her hesitant.
“Fans always asked me, ‘When are you going to start wrestling?’ But my dad kept us so humble that I always thought, ‘No, not me.’
However, once she entered Booker T’s training center, it all clicked for her.
“After talking a lot and stepping into the ring at Reality of Wrestling, it felt like the right fit. It felt natural.”
Sherilyn quickly discovered that wrestling is not just a name; it encompasses the values that come with it.
“Learning about traditions and how to carry them on extends beyond wrestling. It’s about character and how you treat people.”
With growing confidence and the backing of her peers, she now feels ready to embrace this career.
“The more confident I am in being my authentic self, the more I feel like I belong in this industry. There’s nothing else I’d rather do.”
Sherilyn also shared that Rey and Dominik Mysterio have given her their encouragement and support, which means a lot to her.
“I talked to Rey and Dom, and they told me this is what I needed to do, offering their full support, which means a lot.”
Sherilyn Guerrero is poised to step out from her father’s shadow and carve out her own narrative. Though her last name carries weight, the next chapter will be uniquely hers.
Do you think Sherilyn Guerrero will thrive in wrestling like her father? Should WWE or NXT seriously consider her in the future? We’d love to hear your thoughts below.
