WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson has stepped away from the spotlight. After leaving AEW at the close of 2023, he is now attending shows across the Southeast to support his son, Brock Anderson, as he navigates the indie wrestling circuit.
In a conversation with Dennis Salcedo, the wrestling icon shared his new perspective as a mentor, coach, and dedicated father behind the scenes. While acknowledging that Brock isn’t currently appearing on television, he remains optimistic about his son’s future.
“My son Brock, in case you didn’t know, he’s not as mainstream as I think he is. He’s getting into the business.”
After joining AEW in 2019 and working alongside prominent figures like Cody Rhodes, Anderson has returned to his roots, traveling to events in the Carolinas, Virginia, and Georgia to be close to Brock.
“I’ll make as many shows as I can where he’s wrestling in the Carolinas, Virginia and Georgia. I’ll go with him so I can be there to coach him a little bit.”
He noted that his own wrestling career is now taking a back seat.
“No matter what legacy I leave behind in the wrestling industry, all I want to do is give my son the right start…That’s my goal. That’s my wish right now. It’s not about me anymore. 42 years is enough.”
Arn also emphasized that Brock should not feel overshadowed by his legacy.
“It would be very easy to say, ‘Well, he’s Arn’s son. That’s a tough act to follow,’ but he’s Brock, he’s not me, he’s not mini-me or anything.”
While Anderson hasn’t urged fans to endorse Brock, he asks for him to be given a fair opportunity:
“I just want to give him a chance to be a wrestler if that’s what he chooses to do at the end of the rainbow, but at least give him 100 percent of everything he’s got and see where the cards fall.”
For a man who once dominated the WCW ring, Arn’s current focus is refreshingly simple: being a father, supporting his son, and passing down his knowledge with grace. From the legendary Four Horsemen to family road trips, Arn Anderson’s legacy now rides alongside him.
