Tomorrow night at AEW’s annual World’s End pay-per-view in Chicago, the semifinals of the 2025 Continental Classic will take place. Although Mike Bailey earned a consolation prize for his efforts, the holiday season is somewhat bleak for him since "Jungle" Jack Perry advanced by overtaking Bailey’s point advantage during "AEW Collision: Holiday Bash." In his latest YouTube vlog, the former three-time Impact/TNA X Division Champion shared his thoughts on the defeat.
“Things didn’t go well at all. I’m really disappointed,” Bailey said shortly after last Saturday’s match. “If I had won, I would be leading, and the situation would be very different.”
Adding to his challenges, Bailey lost again to the current continental champion Kazuchika Okada five days later on the Christmas edition of AEW Collision. Despite missing the semifinals, Bailey had a strong tournament run, including a victory over ‘Protostar’ Kyle Fletcher and his partner Kevin Knight, earning six points at this year’s event. Currently, Fletcher—who is aligned with the ‘Rainmaker’ and Don Callis Family—has nine points alongside Bailey in the Gold League. Their teammates IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Konosuke Takeshita and Jon Moxley lead the Blue League with 13 and 9 points respectively. The overall champion will be decided later in the show.
