Mone recalled that Triple H communicated the title news to the roster, but even he was skeptical about WWE actually launching the belts. After missing his flight to Orlando, Triple H arrived as McMahon announced the titles during a Raw taping. Mone described her excitement hearing the news from the Gorilla Position and emphasized how significant the addition of Women’s Tag Titles was for professional wrestling, with other promotions following WWE’s lead.
She continued, "I stayed by Gorilla’s area to watch the pre-tape. When McMahon announced it, I was overwhelmed with emotion and tears—the moment was monumental. Even though Vince had been dismissive at times, saying ‘Not now,’ it finally happened. The Women’s Tag Titles aren’t just exclusive to WWE anymore; they exist in AEW, TNA, and across wrestling as a whole. It was a hard-fought achievement and truly amazing." The women’s tag team championship was unveiled in 2018, with Mone and Bayley becoming the first-ever champions in February 2019.
