Former TNA World Champion Moose revealed that he sustained a back injury during the TNA Genesis event held on January 17, 2026. In the triple threat match against Joe Hendry and Cedric Alexander, which Hendry ultimately won, Moose was visibly hurt. A few days following the match, Moose took to social media to update fans on his condition.
He stated, “For those who watched TNA Genesis, I was indeed seriously injured. We truly appreciate everyone’s concern and wish a speedy recovery.”
Despite the injury, the 41-year-old wrestler made it clear he doesn’t plan on missing significant action. Moose is set to appear on an upcoming live episode of TNA Television, airing from Albuquerque, New Mexico.
“My lower back remains quite stiff right now, but I believe I’ll be fine,” he said, adding, “TNA on AMC is going live in Albuquerque.”
During the Genesis match, Hendry repeatedly targeted Moose’s back, including a spot where Moose was slammed onto steel steps—a moment not yet confirmed as the cause of the injury. Moose, who has experienced back issues before, previously suffered a similar injury at Slammiversary 2025 in a match with Leon Slater.
Fan Take: This update is crucial for TNA fans as Moose is a key figure whose presence significantly impacts the championship scene. His prompt recovery could mean he remains a dominant force in TNA Wrestling, maintaining the sport’s excitement and competitive spirit.
