Gallus’ Future After WWE: The Latest Updates and Insights

2 Min Read

The 2025 WWE releases made headlines immediately, but the wrestling trio Gallus—brothers Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, and Wolfgang—quietly disappeared after their release in May last year. Since then, they’ve been performing in Scotland and the UK, but it now seems they are preparing for a return to the U.S. and nearly joined a major wrestling promotion.

According to Fightful’s WrestleBoats Radio, several AEW wrestlers advocated for the Coffey brothers late last year, though it’s unclear if Wolfgang was included in these discussions. All three appeared backstage at AEW’s Orlando TV taping recently but did not appear on Dynamite or Collision. Instead, they look set to debut soon in MLW, although details about contracts or debut dates remain unknown.

Gallus initially entered WWE via the NXT UK roster, quickly becoming a dominant stable. Joe Coffey aimed for solo success, while Mark Coffey and Wolfgang held the NXT UK Tag Team Championships for a record-breaking period, with Mark also briefly capturing the NXT UK Heritage Cup. Joe faced a suspension in June 2020 over sexual harassment allegations during the Speaking Out movement but returned to wrestling in November of the same year.

Later, the group transitioned to NXT, where Mark and Wolfgang won the NXT Tag Team Championship in 2023. They stayed in NXT for their full WWE run but were reportedly considered for a main roster promotion before their release.

Fan Take: This update on Gallus is exciting for WWE fans as it highlights potential new rivalries and fresh talent gaining momentum outside WWE. Their move to MLW or possibly AEW could shake up the wrestling landscape and open the door for more international stars to make an impact on American audiences.
