Austin Theory, the newest member of The Vision, recently shared his early connection with Paul Heyman, which started even before Theory joined WWE. In a recent Raw Recap interview, Theory recounted their first meeting during his time with EVOLVE, where Heyman introduced him to the ring at an event held in the ECW Arena.
Theory explained, “I’ve always had a good relationship with Paul. When I was the EVOLVE Champion, WWE held their first show with EVOLVE at the ECW Arena, and that’s where I met Paul. Although I didn’t know him then, he introduced me to the ring, marking the beginning of our relationship.”
Theory made his WWE main roster debut in 2020, coinciding with Heyman’s role as Executive Director on Raw. He praised Heyman for giving him the chance to be showcased on the main roster and expressed trust in Heyman’s guidance. “During the pandemic, I got my opportunity on RAW thanks to Paul Heyman. We’ve always maintained a great relationship, and if there’s anyone in this business who wants to nurture careers and share wisdom, it’s Paul Heyman. I don’t think he can do anything wrong,” Theory stated.
Reports indicate that Heyman was the one who recommended adding Theory to The Vision. Since joining, Theory has teamed up with Vision members Bronson Reed and Logan Paul, and has played a role in helping Bron Breaker capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Fan Take: This insight into Theory’s relationship with Paul Heyman highlights how vital mentorship and backstage support are within WWE. For fans, it signals that Theory, under Heyman’s guidance, could become a major player in WWE’s future, making the sport even more exciting.
