Welcome to Wrestling Inc.’s live coverage of AEW Dynamite from the HEB Center at Cedar Park in Austin, Texas, on January 28, 2026!
Kris Statlander is set to defend her AEW Women’s World Championship for the first time since her successful title defense against Jamie Hayter at AEW World’s End on December 27. She will face Tekla at the Triangle of Madness event. Recently, Thecla, along with stablemates Julia Hart and Sky Blue, defeated Statlander and her partners, AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron, during last week’s Dynamite Maximum Carnage Special. Additionally, Nightingale retained her TBS Championship against Hart at the Maximum Carnage Special on Collision last Saturday.
In tag team action, FTR will defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Mark Davis and Jake Doyle of the Don Callis Family. Davis and Doyle earned their title shot by winning a four-way No. 1 Contenders match against The Young Bucks, Gates of Agony, and Jetspeed at last Wednesday’s Maximum Carnage Special on Dynamite.
El Cron, a member of the Don Callis Family, will make his Dynamite debut, challenging Mark Brisco for the TNT Championship. Brisco has held the TNT title for 68 days after defeating Kyle Fletcher—also from the Don Callis Family—at AEW Full Gear on November 22. Brisco has successfully defended the championship against Daniel Garcia of the Death Riders, Cron, and Hexero, a fellow Fletcher stablemate.
Andrade El Idolo, another Don Callis Family member, will face Swerve Strickland in his first Dynamite match since the Winter is Coming Special on December 13, 2023. Andrade recently defeated Brody King in a Blue League match at the Continental Classic.
Ace Austin will compete against Death Riders leader and AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley in an eliminator match for a future AEW Continental Championship opportunity. Moxley earned victories over Josh Alexander of the Don Callis Family and Shelton Benjamin of The Hart Syndicate in a Championship Eliminator on Dynamite during the New Year’s Smash episodes on December 31 and January 7.
Kenny Omega returns to the ring after his recent win over Alexander and will face Alexander’s stablemate Rocky Romero. AEW World Champion MJF will also make an appearance, with Omega, Swerve Strickland, and “Hangman” Adam Page keeping close watch on his title reign.
