WWE Superstar Opens Up About Feeling ‘Hesitation’ Over Cashing In Money in the Bank Victory

WWE star Seth Rollins admitted he felt “very hesitant” about winning the Money in the Bank ladder match for the second time. In 2025, following his new alliance with Paul Heyman and the formation of The Vision alongside Bron Breaker and Bronson Reed, Rollins secured the men’s Money in the Bank briefcase at WWE’s major live event on June 8.

Initially, Rollins pretended to have a knee injury and planned to stay out of action for some time. However, two months later at WWE SummerSlam 2025, he cashed in the briefcase by defeating CM Punk shortly after Punk had captured the World Heavyweight Championship from Gunther.

During an interview on the Sal Licata Show, Rollins shared that he was reluctant to win Money in the Bank again, given how iconic his first cash-in was at WrestleMania 31 nearly a decade earlier. Reflecting on that moment, he said:

“If you look back at my prize money at WrestleMania in 2015, it was a pretty epic prize money, definitely one of the biggest prize money of all time. So I’m very hesitant to have to pick up the briefcase again and recreate that energy. But when the story was presented to me, it made a lot of sense from the perspective of everyone on the roster trying to stop me from making money. I tried it a few times here and there, but then I found a way to disappear from sight and out of mind.”

Rollins also praised the storyline around his fake injury and the eventual cash-in, emphasizing how challenging it is to keep such plans secret in today’s wrestling environment. He noted:

“Such secrets are difficult to keep in modern industry. Some secrets are easy to keep, like someone coming back from an extended absence. You can keep them hidden for a long time. But I was active and the main storyline of the show, so it’s very difficult to keep that secret. So the fact that we were able to figure out a little bit of the gray area and execute it our way, we’re really happy with the final product. I hope I don’t have to do it a third time because I don’t know what to do next time.”

Rollins held the World Heavyweight Championship until October but was forced to give up the title after suffering a shoulder injury during his match against Cody Rhodes at WWE Crown Jewel 2025.

Fan Take: This development highlights how WWE continues to blend compelling storytelling with athletic drama, keeping fans on the edge of their seats. Rollins’ reluctance and the secrecy involved add depth to his character, which bodes well for future storylines and the evolving landscape of WWE.
