WWE Welcomes Saudi Wrestling Star Fahad Tuwaiq to Its Roster

2 Min Read

WWE has recently signed Fahad Tuwaiq to a significant international deal, positioning him ahead of the company’s inaugural WrestleMania event in Saudi Arabia. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter highlighted that the importance of Tuwaiq’s contract lies not only in his background but also in who revealed the news: Turki Alarusik. Meltzer described Alarusik as “essentially the most powerful figure in martial arts,” noting that he controls Saudi Arabia’s multi-billion-dollar boxing industry and is linked to a boxing empire that accounts for about 12 to 13 percent of WWE’s projected total revenue in 2026. Moreover, there are substantial financial connections to the UFC, meaning Alarusik’s involvement carries considerable weight.

Despite the excitement, Meltzer cautions that success is not guaranteed. While Tuwaiq will be given every chance to shine, “even with preferential treatment, the odds of an unknown talent making it big in WWE remain very slim.” Tuwaiq made his official WWE debut today during the Royal Rumble 2026 Kickoff Show, briefly discussing his training at the WWE Performance Center. He expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming Royal Rumble event and acknowledged the mounting buzz around WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia.

As WWE strengthens its ties with Saudi Arabia and Turki Alarusik’s prominence in martial arts grows, it’s clear that Tuwaiq is being positioned to enter the limelight—ready or not. The big question now is whether Fahad Tuwaiq will rise to WWE stardom or fade away like many others. What are your thoughts on Saudi Arabia’s expanding influence within WWE?
