Former NXT GM Shares Insights on WWE Star The Rock’s Daughter Eva’s Exit

Eva, the former WWE NXT General Manager, revealed on Friday that she has decided not to renew her contract and will be parting ways with WWE. Simone Garcia Johnson, better known as Eva and the daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, shared her departure news with fans through Instagram.

After Eva’s announcement, Fightful Select contacted WWE for a comment, and the company expressed gratitude for her “outstanding work” as Eva. WWE highlighted her passion, commitment, and influence, which extended beyond NXT, and wished her the best in her future pursuits.

Eva started training at WWE’s Performance Center in February 2020 but made her on-screen debut not as an authority figure, but in 2022 as Eva Lane in the show Divided, alongside Joe Gacy and The Dyad (Grizzled Young Veterans). Her first match took place at Stand & Deliver 2023, where she and her partner lost to Chase U in a mixed tag team bout. She participated in five additional WWE matches after that, including two more singles contests, but did not secure any televised victories. Her final match was a defeat against Ivy Nile at Heatwave 2023.

In 2023, Eva transitioned to an on-screen role as Shawn Michaels’ assistant after Joe Gacy disbanded The Sism following The Dyad’s release. By January 2024, William Regal promoted her to NXT General Manager, making her the youngest executive in WWE history. Notably, Eva shared the screen once with her father during a visit to NXT after the New Year’s Evil special in January 2025.

Fan Take:
Eva’s departure marks the end of a promising chapter for WWE’s younger generation, especially given her historic role as the youngest NXT GM. Her exit leaves fans curious about who will step up to continue evolving NXT’s leadership and shape the future of the brand.
