An AEW wrestler recently expressed gratitude to Tony Khan for the chance to showcase his promotion during the upcoming crossover event. As noted earlier, ROH Global Wars is set to return later this year, collaborating with Metroplex Wrestling.

Athena, the ROH Women’s World Champion and owner of Metroplex Wrestling, shared her feelings on the next event. While affiliated with Metroplex Wrestling, she conveyed a mix of pride and frustration in a heartfelt Twitter post. Athena praised the dedication of the Metroplex trainees and thanked Tony Khan for the opportunity to create a trusted platform for them.

She stated, “I’ve never been more proud and angry, but I’m so grateful to be able to provide a platform that people trust.” Athena also highlighted her weekly involvement as their coach and “#MinionOverlord,” witnessing firsthand their determination and passion. She encouraged fans to support and follow the trainees’ growth and expressed her appreciation to Tony Khan for making the event possible.

Athena added that although the MPX minions were thrilled about #ROHMPXGlobalWars, they are determined not to accept defeat. She humorously outlined required training for the upcoming week, including running a mile, completing 1,000 burpees per loss, and mandatory attendance.

She concluded her message with congratulations and signed off with “With love and anger, athena.” Additionally, ROH Global Wars is scheduled to team up with Maple Leaf Wrestling in March, continuing the trend of exciting collaborative shows.

Fan Take: This crossover event underscores AEW’s expanding influence and willingness to support grassroots promotions, offering fans fresh matchups and rising stars to rally behind. For AEW enthusiasts, it signals a vibrant future where collaboration not only elevates talent but also broadens the overall wrestling landscape.
