Tony Khan Reacts to the Shocking Breakup of AEW’s Legendary Faction

Tony Khan recently shared his thoughts on the disbandment of a notable wrestling faction and the lasting influence their legacy has had on AEW. This new group, Unbound Co, was formed by Yota Tsuji during NJPW’s New Year Dash event on January 5th, merging the Bullet Club War Dogs with Los Ingobernables de Japon’s spin-off team, the Unaffiliates. With the Bullet Club ending its nearly 13-year run, AEW president Tony Khan took a moment to reflect on what the faction has represented.

Speaking on 107.7 The Bone, Khan stated, “I believe The Bullet Club has an incredible and rich history featuring some of the greatest wrestlers I’ve ever witnessed. This legacy is deeply connected to the tradition of AEW.” He emphasized the significance of this history in relation to AEW’s own journey.

The Bullet Club has been well-represented in AEW lately, with members of the War Dogs—Dorilla Moloney, Gabe Kidd, and Robbie X—making a strong impact over the last few months. Moreover, key former leaders like Kenny Omega and Jay White are set to transition fully into AEW; Omega will assume the role of EVP, while White is expected to debut in April 2023 alongside established stars such as Adam Cole, Hangman Page, Jack Perry, and The Young Bucks. Meanwhile, David Finlay, who has led the Bullet Club Wardogs since 2023, is reportedly nearing the end of his NJPW contract and is exploring opportunities in the United States.

Fan Take: This development marks a pivotal shift as some of wrestling’s most iconic talents integrate more deeply into AEW, signaling exciting fresh matchups and storylines ahead. For AEW fans, it solidifies the promotion’s status as a global wrestling powerhouse, blending rich histories with new eras of competition.
