WWE’s Chelsea Green Shares Latest on Setback from Ankle Injury

2 Min Read

Former WWE United States Women’s Champion Chelsea Green has shared unfortunate news about an injury she suffered during a match on Friday’s WWE SmackDown. On Wednesday, Green took to the Chelsea Chronicles on X (formerly Twitter) to reveal that she had broken her ankle.

Initially, her injury was reported as a sprained ankle, with plans for further medical evaluation. Green posted a photo of her bruised ankle on Monday, accompanied by a list of “demands” directed at WWE management. The injury occurred during an Elimination Chamber qualifying match against Tiffany Stratton and Rush Legend.

Before sharing the bruised ankle photo, Green hinted at her injury in another post on the Chelsea Chronicles X page, mentioning to Patry Hot that she escaped a “near-fatal fall” but suffered a “career-threatening injury.” In her latest update, Green did not specify how long she might be sidelined.

On Saturday’s AAA event, former AAA World Mixed Tag Team Champion Green revealed she couldn’t defend her titles alongside WWE NXT’s Ethan Page. La Hiedra took her place, but she and Paige lost the championships to Laura Vice and Mr. Iguana. Green had previously lost the United States Women’s Championship to Julia on January 2 during SmackDown.

Green’s name was recently in the headlines after backstage producer Michael Hayes commented on “WWE Unreal” that Green isn’t yet at the world championship level. Following the show’s release, fans and supporters, including “Patrihot,” showed strong support for Green across social media.

Chelsea Green’s injury is a tough blow for WWE, removing a talented and popular competitor from action. For fans, it raises concerns about how long she’ll be out and highlights the physical risks wrestlers face, which could impact WWE’s women’s division storylines in the near future.
